Chapter 24 - Double Trial!

Barrow took Cale and ran off to the entrance, he knew that they had to get caught or somehow spotted by others so that they could go alongside Tanjiro's journey to change the fate of the world so he purposefully went slower than usual. Besides, if he went as fast as Muzan it would be strange and people would begin to suspect him for being a demon if they were that insane to think so.

"You know she won't even be able to catch you even if you slowed down like this?"

"...You're right, I should slow down even more."

Barrow slowed down, once again, this time even slower to the point he was just jogging. Well, anything to make the story progress quicker is what Cale would say. He then slowed down when he heard rustling from behind him, it was most likely Kanao or Shinobu.

"And, that's a wrap of my daily jogging."

Barrow dodged the kick from above and slid to the right, he looked up and could see a girl in a Demon Slayer uniform with a white cape over it. It was Kanao, and she was here to chase the two of them down.

He put his hands up after letting Cale down and let Kanao drag him away to the Demon Slayer Headquarters. Looks like the confrontation with Tanjiro was nearing its start now, but now he was roped into this mess since Cale was now a demon.

As he was dragged away, he could see Tanjiro looking a bit beat up and on the ground with the box Nezuko was currently hiding in. He wondered what Tanjiro even fought since he was already fighting Rui, so just who was he fighting?

Well, he'll find out once Tanjiro awakens and the interrogation is over. For now, he can wait for a little while.

"It's time to go meet the other Hashiras."

"Got it..."

Barrow stood up from his seat and followed the Kakushi who usually cleaned up after Demon Slayers lead him out of the Butterfly Mansion, he could see many patients recovering from whatever demon they fought and many more training outside.

He followed the Kakushi outside to the court where he could see all nine Hashiras lined up to the side, with Tanjiro lying down on the ground next to the box Nezuko was in. He could also see Cale sitting in the shade as the Demon Slaying Corps assumed that Cale couldn't go out in the sun.

One of the Hashira's, Sanemi forced Barrow to sit down right next to Tanjiro. Except this time, apparently due to his obedience, he wasn't tied up like Tanjiro.

"This is the Demon Slayer Headquarters, you Tanjiro and Barrow are here to be put on trial."

"There's no need for a trial, chop his head off!"

"I'll cut his head off with style, just watch me."

The Hashira's all chimed in one by one, some prayed, some casually mentioned cutting off Barrow's and Tanjiro's heads, while some hesitated to do so or were even hesitant to do anything to such 'adorable' children.

Barrow sat there still, he wasn't scared, he was bored. He wants to go back to Cale but these Hashiras won't let him!

That was when, Ubuyashiki entered the courthouse. Every Hashira went silent and immediately bowed down, including Barrow who was trying to get avoided by a whack in the head by a Hashira.

He could see Ubuyashiki taking out a note and reading it in front of the Hashiras. While some disapprove of Urokodaki and Giyuu defending Tanjiro, some said nothing as they couldn't refute two Hashiras claims.

"This is bullshit."

Sanemi unsheathed his blade and cut his forearm, spilling the blood onto the box. He was then reminded by Obanai that demons couldn't go out in the sun.

Cale sat there with a horrified look, thank god he wasn't the one who was stabbed. He felt pity for Nezuko, it must've suck being stabbed like that. No wait, Sanemi was charging at him with full speed, he shouldn't be worrying about Nezuko!

Bang!

Cale dodged the attack from Sanemi's unsheathed blade as Nezuko stood up from the box that was thrown down, Sanemi looked at him with a shocked expression. It was the first time a demon dodged his attack, it was also the first time a demon rejected the smell of his blood.

"Hmm, why don't you want my blood?"

"Because I hate blood...?"

He looked at Sanemi as if he was an idiot, completely ignoring the fact that he was a demon. It wasn't like he forgot or anything, he just thought it was common sense to not like blood.

The Hashiras all looked at each other, this was the first time a demon has said they didn't like blood, not to mention that Nezuko had completely ignored the blood oozing out of Sanemi's arm.

"Well, with this, haven't both Cale and Nezuko proved that they don't attack humans? You can all go now, this is now time for the Hashiras to talk."

"They can reside in the Butterfly Mansion!"

Shinobu clapped her hands and immediately two Kakushi's appeared and carried Tanjiro while Cale was placed in a bamboo basket so he wouldn't reach the sun.

"Hello, incoming people."

Barrow barged into the room where Zenitsu and Inosuke were currently recovering in. This time, Cale finally took off his scarf because it was getting too hot for him.

"W-who is that next to you Barrow?!"

"My brother...?"

Zenitsu pointed at Cale with shaking arms, never has he ever seen such a pretty person in his life. This made Cale regret his decision on taking off the scarf on his face. Right, this man had an obsession with women or anyone that was feminine enough for him.

Barrow immediately blocked Cale's view from Zenitsu, that man is both going anywhere near his dongsaeng! Never will he let anyone touch his little brother, it doesn't even matter if they were a few minutes or even years a part depending on the world. As long as Cale was his little brother, no one was going to touch him at all.

"Zenitsu, never go near Cale. If you do, I have to be there."

"W-what?! Why?"

"..I don't trust you at all."

Barrow wrapped his haori around Cale, as Zenitsu even tried to get up from bed. Too bad he couldn't as he was still paralyzed a bit from the poison, thankfully he wasn't in grave danger due to Shinobu injecting him with an antidote on time.

Cale stood there and let him self be coddled by Barrow, he was always like this no matter how much he tried to pull out of his hyung's hugs.

Zenitsu looked at Cale in shock, how was this man even more beautiful than Inosuke? He might have even ask Cale to marry him if it weren't for the fact that he was a man.
