   They say eyes don't lie.

Well, that statement right there is a lie. Eyes are deceitful! You can never really tell what they are hiding. Innocent eyes, they always look so peaceful. No one knows what lies behind them.

Even now, as we all wave each other goodbyes, smiling goofily as we make our way to each of our destination. Each harbouring one feeling or another, our eyes lie!

The smell of wet sky was a sign that the weather was drastically changing. Still, I was in no rush to get home. The peaceful chirping of birds that blended perfectly with the whispers of the crickets. It was all so peaceful!

Needles of rain tore its way through the sky, and before long the ground had already been drenched with its tears.

I found solitude in nature. Becoming one with the peaceful flow of time sounded much more better. Being a human was so much more effort.

Breathing hard, I take a seat at a nearby bus stop. The bus would not arrive with this storm, so it'll  best I enjoy myself.

Needless to say, Katie will start to worry by now.

I love the rain. It has always been the best way to escape reality. People say, if you want to cry silently, then stand alone in the rain.

As I watched the sky angrily bless the mother earth with abundant water. I couldn't help but gawk at the beauty of the world. Yet, we all don't see its value.

The rain finally ceased to my dismay and I was finally able to board a bus home.
There awaits a chapter of my story called life.

"Why do you keep doing this Nia?" Doll eyes greet me.

"I'm sorry Katie, it's not my fault it rained." I say half heartedly.

She sighs putting on a fake smile. "It's okay, come in. I hope you didn't catch a cold?"

   This fake concern?

My eyes finally rests on the reason behind this alien attitude. Two people seat at our living room watching every little engagement we make. I smile back and walk indoors ready to play her little game.

"You can go change, I'll warm your food and make you some tea okay?"

I nod wearily, skimming pass her visitors as though I didn't notice them which is all too obvious but I don't have time for miger talks right now.

Arriving at my room, I let out a sigh of relief before plumping on the bed.

Oh! How I've missed you bed.

How my bed was so comfortable was still a mystery.

Not too long before Katie comes barging in, disrupting my newly found peace.

"Here." She places the tray of food on my reading table. "I've cooked spaghetti, hope that's okay?"

Spaghetti and tea? Now that's a weird combination.

She still keeps gaping at me waiting for at least a sign of gratitude.

   "Thank you Katie." I say.

She nods."I've got visitors honey, you think you could come to greet them later when you're done?"

This is obviously not a question.
