Lovely Noel Carter
EXCITEMENT filled the air along with the loud cheers and screams from students rooting for their teams. The uproars made the ground feel as though it vibrated and filled up players and performers with excitement. Especially the football players, all of which seemed zoomed in on the noise of the crowd as they got ready to run through their personalized banner a few cheerleaders held up.
The trumpets blared with the school song as the cheerleaders prepared to do their intro performance as a way to welcome the team in.
Following the blow of a whistle, simultaneously the girls started as the team all ran out onto the field making the already loud crowd explode with more sound. The players scanned their eyes across the crowd, housing the bleachers looking for a sign of those who came out to support them.
Personally, I did not have anyone to celebrate the accomplishment of being made the primary photographer for one of the biggest games in the season. It was our first home game, and the beginning of determining what team will make it out on top.
Also good for my budding career as I wasn't confident or strong enough to be in the spotlight anymore, like the ones now. I was more comfortable hiding behind the camera instead of being the attention.
Varsity's team was filled with nothing but adrenaline while needing to impress scouts watching all season long and the fact that in each game they had to give their all to make it big, if that's what they choose to do. It was most of their dreams to go to the NFL.
I refocused my mind on moving my body along the team and snapping pictures of them at the moment. I made sure to take pictures of the QB because the coach stressed that so much. I'm not much of a fan of most of the players, but work over personal feelings.
I ended up drawing his attention to me abruptly and I quickly moved away to the next player. I didn't like any kind of attention and even just the small eye contact with him caused my body to shoot with nerves.
Anti-social is the name of this game.
Sooner rather than later the other team came out and the game officially started. I switched the lens on my camera, so I can stay far and still get close-ups.
"Noel!" I heard my name loudly and I turned to look, seeing as the voice belonged to my best friend, Jade. My polar opposite.
She smiled and waved harder when I turned, I waved back before snapping a few pictures of her which she posed for. They weren't on break so she couldn't come to me, but the fact she took time to say hi was enough.
