chapter 3

*Short update

"We'll be visiting Kairo on the 28th of next month." Dad, said.

We're currently eating dinner in the dining room. Lai and his parents are seated on my opposite side, while mom and dad are seated next to one other. We have a round table so that we can see and hear each other easily.

"Right. It's his death anniversary. Dadaan na din kaming mag asawa doon since uuwi din kami on the first week of the month." Tita replied.

Unable to think of anything to say, I looked down at my food. My brother's death anniversary falls on the same day as my birthday. I've always celebrated my birthday with my supporters. I host fan events and tours, but it was before my brother's incident, so now? Given that it is also the death anniversary of my brother, I cannot afford to have fun.

They continued talking about kairo and some business stuff. The table was full of laughter but I can't laugh with them. I don't have the right to laugh with them if I'm the one who cause their sadness. I can't laugh with them knowing that it's my fault why my brother die.

Tahimik lang ako sa upuan ko habang si Lai naman ay nag sasalita lang kapag nakaka relate sya sa usapan. Nag salita lang din ako nang tungkol na sa kasal namin ang pinag usapan nila. I was a bit hurt whenever I hear Lai saying no to the idea of having a wedding as soon as possible. He said, we're still enjoying our life and wanted to have a long preparation for the wedding. Nasasaktan ako doon kasi alam kong rason nya lang 'yon dahil ayaw nya naman talaga saakin.

After the dinner our parents decided to leave kasi maaga pa sila bukas. Lai's parents are going back to states , i guess. Yong parents ko naman ay may business trip din daw bukas. They kissed us before leaving. Lai held my waist and pulled me closer to him. I wasn't expecting that so I looked up on him pero ang mga mata nito ay deretrso lang nakatingin sa papaalis na sasakyan ng mga magulang namin. Nang makalayo na sila ay agad niya rin namang binitawan ang bewang ko na siyang kinadismaya ko. plastic.. Sumunod na din ako kaagad sa kaniya nang ihabilin nito sa guard na isarado na 'yong gate.

Napalingon naman ulit ako sa labas nang may marinig akong tunog ng camera. "Manong, may tao ba sa labas?" Tanong ko naman sa guard na ngayon ay nasarado na ang gate.

Muli nitong sinilip at binaling ang tingin saakin, "Wala naman po, ma'am" aniya

I tilted my head in confusion, Am I that stress para makarinig ng bagay bagay? Napailing nalang ako sa sarili at pumasok na sa loob.

I found Lai in the kitchen, getting some canned beer. Hindi ito umakyat sa taas, instead he went to the backyard at umupo sa upuan sa poolside.
