...
It's been a while.
In fact, a long while.
Hundreds of years passed and time seemed to lock certain things into place as your consciousness traveled with it, leaving nothing but traces of you behind, barely.
You hurt, and you got hurt. And was it worth it?
Good question!
Was it worth leaving so many people questioning your well-being? Was it worth abandoning your chance at having a relatively normal life... looking at your predicament? Morax would have made sure that you lived a comfortable life. Barbatos would have helped, Xiao too, you know that!
Was it the right choice?
...
Well, it doesn't matter anyway, you couldn't stop what happened and you can't stop the future from doing its job either, even though, in truth, the future and past never existed. It's only now. The Y/N from five minutes ago is probably thinking of the same thing and it all ends up in a weird fucking loop inside your head if you think about it.
That's why you never bothered 'decoding' time. It's complicated yet the simplest thing you could ever imagine. It's somewhat uncomfortable to try and put it in order so you don't. It's enough to acknowledge the thought and that's enough.
Somewhere in a parallel reality, you probably never left Liyue and stayed behind. Those timelines are probably not as quiet as this one is without you around to fuck with it. Or so you hope.
Will you stop? Fuck no.
Does time intimidate you? Hell to the no.
You've been thrown around in different realities and possibilities like a rag doll in a washing machine and you turned out fine in the end. Your father already revealed that to you and in a way it made sense and you didn't think too hard about it or else your brain would turn to mush. So, again, you're fine.
Well, as fine as you could with that hole in your chest. At least your golden life source is spilled on the ground no more as you get yourself into another place.
And the void is fucking awesome if you know how to navigate it, although it's extremely overwhelming.
Time is a human conception and you can't experience it in the void because it does not exist in that place which is also nowhere and everywhere. That's how every it gets. So everything is happening right then at that moment and if you would have been conscious enough to stay awake during that, your mind would have been overwhelmed with loads of information and stimuli, but at the same time, you're not per se asleep. You would need to experience time for that and you're in the void. So your mind just froze, like a computer blue screen.
You would have seen all the branches and windows that could open and you'd find out that Teyvat's consciousness is as flexible as it is easy to break away from the infinite of similar paths it takes.
Your father sure saw a few of them, especially when you visited him a long time ago, but you're not supposed to do that just yet. You're not prepared, and you don't have a reason for it, yet.
Because if you really wished to change things, you'd go to the beginning of it all.
But with your subconscious and with a little bit of help from the universe you landed on the other side of the fence again, where the grass is just a tad bit greener than the one you've been on before.
And once again, you're going to make choices.
---
Of course, it's him! He always seems to be there when I need him!
