“If you love something, let it go”.
Such an easy saying,
yet we rarely follow through with it.
A pet that has health issues is often put down to “release it”.
Yet we cling onto the sick humans in our lives.
Digging our fingers deep into their skin to not let go.
No matter how sick a person seems,
we just place them in hospitals,
and pump them full with meds as to not lose them.
“If you love something, let it go”.
Do we love our pets so much more than other humans
by “releasing” them, or are we just picking and choosing
as to when one should love something in a way
to be allowed to let it go?
Where do we draw the line?
What is the turning point in our love
to justify forcibly keeping someone alive,
even if we have long given up?
Do we hate other humans?
Is that the reason as to why we would do anything
but “releasing” them from their pain?
It’s all twisted, but in which way?
“If you love something, let it go”,
except if it is a human.
Then you keep them with you
no matter what.

RandomDeep thoughts, as in sleep-deprived at 3am with untreated mental issues and traumas and too many poetry videos on my fyp. I'll just vibe here with them until I feel like getting better. TW for everything I guess.
