When y/n awoke, the sound of flames crackling was heard as they fuzzily blinked their eyes open. they had their hands and legs tied together, sitting on a mossy hollow log while a campfire crackled in front of them.

"Finally. You're awake."
A low voice rumbled beside them. y/n jumped, flinching as they looked beside them and saw a very tall figure, around 6'8. He had some muscle around his arms, but definitely a dad bod. He wore a long patchy brown jacket, white shirt beneath, and black pants with black boots.

He had long curly black hair, and strangely enough, no face-? Well, his eyes were visible, and a big grin on his face that didn't seem to move. His face was just one big shadow besides that. Hm.

He stared down at y/n, raising an eyebrow.
"Staring is rude." He muttered, y/n looking back at the crackling orange fire as the man threw a stick into it from behind him. The neon orange ash flew up into the air and disappeared, y/n watching silently.
"You're a thief. Correct?" He murmured again. y/n nodded. It was awkwardly silent again for another moment before the man sighed. "My name's Kudo. You don't need to know my last name. Your lucky i found you. You hit your head pretty badly." He turned his head to look down at y/n, the smile not visible on his face now.

"Oh-?" y/n looked back up at him, struggling to get their hands free from the ropes before giving up with a sigh. The man nodded before he reached into his bag beside him, taking out a canteen of water and putting out the fire.

"You're sticking with me until you heal. And because I wanna make sure you don't get into any more trouble. There's a huge bounty on your head." y/n snickered a bit, thinking he was joking for a moment.
"Oh you're serious? I don't care about my bounty. Im in it for the money."
"I can tell. Now get some rest. You're coming with me tomorrow." He shifted off of the log onto a blanket he had on the ground, laying down with a sigh. There was a smaller blanket beside his, which y/n shuffled down onto considering their limbs were still tied.
And within the silence, y/n soon drifted off to sleep beneath the stars and to the lullaby of the loud forest crickets.
