After the date Carlos had flown off to Monaco for the Grandprix while Valentina busied herself at work, They exchanged texts, shared updates about their days, and occasionally found time for a phone call, bridging the physical gap with their words and shared moments.
Despite her initial reluctance to date a celebrity, Valentina found herself pleasantly surprised by how often her thoughts drifted to Carlos. No matter where she was or what she was doing, memories of their time together and the genuine connection they had formed seemed to occupy a special place in her mind.
She couldn't help but smile at the thought of their conversations, their shared laughter under the starry sky, and the promise of more moments together. Carlos had managed to break through her reservations, creating a unique space in her heart that she hadn't expected.
As Valentina's life settled back into its routine, she couldn't help but notice the absence of something that had once felt so vibrant and exciting. Her days continued much as they did before she met Carlos, yet they now felt emptier, as if a certain spark was missing. Her routine had become a reminder of someone, a presence she had come to cherish.
In the midst of her everyday tasks, she found herself looking forward to the upcoming race weekend. It was a respite from the monotony, a chance to reconnect with the world of Formula 1 and, perhaps, with Carlos himself.
As Saturday unfolded, Valentina found herself finishing up with a patient just in time for the qualifying session. She quickly tuned in to watch the race, her heart racing as she followed Carlos's performance on the track. It was an exhilarating session, and to her delight, Carlos secured a fantastic P4 on the grid.
Unable to contain her excitement, she reached for her phone and sent a message to Carlos: "Great race! Excited for tomorrow."
As Sunday unfolded, Valentina decided to make it a productive and fulfilling day to keep her mind occupied before the race in the evening. She started with a morning workout at the gym, followed by a visit to the local farmers' market. Lunch with Alex and Nick added a warm touch to her day, and her sense of fulfilment grew.
In the afternoon, she decided to indulge in some baking therapy, whipping up a batch of cookies. Just as she was taking the last batch out of the oven, her phone rang, and she saw Carlos's name on the screen. She picked up with a warm smile.
"Just a good luck message and no phone calls?" Carlos teased.
Valentina chuckled, setting aside a cookie to cool. "Well, I didn't know when you'd be available to take a call. It's race day after all."
Carlos explained, "Ah, well, I was quite busy. Just got a breather for myself before the race started."
Valentina playfully remarked, "And you call me during the few minutes you have free before the race?"
Carlos couldn't help but admit, "I thought hearing your voice would bring me luck."
Valentina's heart warmed at his words. "Oh, is it? Then I hope you get the result you want, Mr. Sainz."
"Thank you, mi amor," Carlos replied, his affection evident in his voice. "I'll give it my best out there."
Valentina reassured him, "I'll be cheering for you from here."
"Then I better give a performance worth impressing," Carlos said with determination.
After their brief but heartwarming phone call, Carlos headed off to fulfil his media obligations with a sense of determination. Meanwhile, Valentina returned to her preparations for the race day, setting up her living room to watch the race alongside her friends Sophie, Nick, and Alex.
