Luck Still Isn't On My Side But It's Better On Danica's

Chapter 2

I awoke to the sound of thundering. I got up quickly hitting the top of the playhouse which was drenched in water. Aww Fuck! This isn't happening to me. I quickly began gathering my stuff as I heard a knock coming from the door. Why would she be here? There's really no point for someone to be here knocking on a playhouse door when technically no one would be here!! Wow, that was a confusing statement. The door was pushed open and it showed the opener, Danica. Danica? What the hell is she doing here?!

"Rose? Are you alright? Shane called me and asked if you were at my house. And why exactly are you in the playhouse house of the park?" She asked as she stepped into the small playhouse and helped me get my stuff.

"I'm fine, I suppose. To answer your question, I was evicted from my apartment. So I told him I was staying with you, but I didn't want to bother you so I slept here." I said stepping out of the playhouse house with Danica and began running for the car. Danica ran to her car which was parked next to mine and stepped in. I did the same and she rolled down her window saying, "Tell me the rest at Wendy's so we don't have to speak in the rain." She rolled her window back up and exited the parking lot and I did the same. A few moments later I arrived at Wendy's and took notice that Danica must've taken the longer route. I parked my car in Wendy's parking and quickly exited my car running into the building. Drenched from the rain outside I got on line and ordered a frosty while I waited for Danica. 10 minutes later she showed up soaked as she ran to my table planting herself in the chair across from me.

"Okay, spill." She said as she adjusted herself to the chair and listened to my excuse.

"Well, first of all I lost my job, but you knew that. Then I came home to find myself being evicted. So awesome. Then I called Shane who apparently didn't want me there with him at all. And you were stressed about both me and my job and your problems with Mark." I said as I began taking a sip from soda then playing with my fingers.

"Hey, look its fine. My problems with my boyfriend don't need to concern you and besides it's not like he lives with me so you can stay." she said playing with a few strands of hair that were falling in her face. I slurped some more from my soda and just looked at her as if she was serious. Realization came over my face as I now knew she wasn't joking so I did have a place to stay. I reached over and grabbed her for a really tight hug with the table.

"OMG THANK YOU!!!!!!" I squealed as I shook her continuing the very tight hug. We soon let go of our hug and ran out of Wendy's just as the rain cleared making our way to Danica's home. I decided to take the long way to Danica's home and relax a little because some things were actually turning out to be well for a while. Again I found myself singing another song by Maroon 5 and honestly it just made my day even better.

I found myself silently whispering the same words Adam sang on the radio. Then once it hit again on the last chorus I found myself singing it out loud and crying to it. Shortly I pulled up to Danica's driveway as she got out of the car and was jumped excitedly as she spoke over the phone. Once I stopped, she hung up the phone and rushed over to me as I got out of the car.

"WE JUST WON TICKETS TO MAROON 5'S SOLD OUT CONCERT TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!! FEATURING THE MAINE! AND WE'RE VIP SO WE CAN HANG OUT WITH THEM FOR A WHILE!!!!" she while jumping at least two feet up in the air just as I stood outside still not realizing what had just happened. How in the hell was my luck doing a 360 in a matter of hours? This isn't possible, is it? A few moments ago I was just listening to Maroon 5, who I really love and now I get to see them? The tickets are probably fake and she's just trying to get my hopes for something happening so fast.
