You Surprise Me, That's A Good Thing.

Chapter 5

"So, this is the set of The Voice! Also I's going to give you my number because it's super easy to get lost here." spoke Adam showing off the Main stage. Everything looked better in person than on the screen. I couldn't believe I was actually going to be working on the show. Adam decided it would be nice to give me an abridged tour of the whole place and he had done so. Adam went to his designated seat and I stood on the stage. He smiled at me and gestured for me to sing on the stage. I blushed a bright pink and shook my head. Adam chuckled and spun his chair around pretending this was a blind audition.

"Rose, I want you to sing for me. " Asked Adam from behind his chair.  I  spoke up and responded, "You've heard me sing."

"I want you to sing for me and don't say that you sang for me because we sang together. That doesn't count missy. Now sing something for me.... as a thanks for getting you the job." He said. I could feel him smirking from behind the chair. I took a deep breath and began to sing Young and Beautiful  by Lana Del Rey.

Adam's chair turned around and he began to clap. "Was that so hard?" he remarked as he got up from his chair and made his way to me. As he made his way to me, clapping was still heard. I looked around and saw no one. Adam slung an arm around me and pointed backstage where Gwen, Pharrell, and Blake were standing. My face grew bright red knowing that they heard me sing.

"You should really try out for the show, I'd love to fight Adam for you to be on my team." Blake shouted as we made our way toward him. Gwen nodded in agreement and Pharrell kept on smiling. I couldn't help, but smile back and then explain why I couldn't be on the show.

"Oh, so you're the new producer!" said Gwen as she extended her hand shaking mine. Pharrell shook my hand as well and Blake gave me a bear hug. Adam and I laughed at Blake's upfrontness. "Hugs are fun  just because Adam, Gwen and Pharrell don't hug people at first, doesn't mean I have to do that."

"Aww that's sweet," I said laughing a little as did they. Blake quickly let go and then said,"It's great to meet you. Where're you from and where did you find this loser?" He said pointing his thumb at Adam. Adam rolled his eyes and chuckled.

"I'm actually from New York, but I've been here for about 8 years now. And to answer where the loser found me, I went to his show with a friend." I said emphasizing on the loser part as Adam's eyes widen and put his hand on his chest. I laughed and so did everyone.

"Real talk though, what made you want to move here?" Asked Blake again and this time Gwen interrupted, "Did you just-"
"Yes, I said it. Got a problem? Tryna be hip here."
We all started laughing and couldn't take it. Blake stood there just raising a brow while we all laughed.After I calmed down a bit I replied,"I knew I wanted to be a producer, so the only way to do that was to move to Cali. I had more opportunities here than New York. I used work for a company for a while, but then they didn't need me anymore."
