****The Next Day****

I got up and got Kayla ready for school. I ended up with 3 days of suspension and 5 days of ISS.

"Tre I want cereal." Kay complained.

"We don't have any milk. The lights still off." I replied handing her a pop tart.

"When will we get lights back?"

"Today." I replied.

"Yay that means I can take a hot bath tonight right?"

"Yup." I smiled and rubbed her head.

"You messin up my hair." She complained as she ate her pop tart.

"I'm the one that fixed your hair." I said to her pinching her cheek.

"So." She laughed and then was silent. "Tre, my teacher asked me was something wrong at home. I told her no."

"Good, I told you don't tell anyone anything ok. They are gonna call the people."

"I know. She was asking a lot of stuff."

"Like what?"

"I don't' know just a lot." I sighed and looked at Kay. I was doing the best I could. I didn't know how to do her hair really good but I tried my best. I made sure she ate everyday but it wasn't a lot.

"What's wrong?" She asked looking at me.

"Nothing just thinking." Just then there was a knocked on the door.

"Come in." I replied. Kev and Ty came into the house.

"Man you lucky. It's a test today too." Kev said.

"I know I didn't want to miss it." I said dapping him up and then Ty.

"You a nerd just like Ty." Kev said shaking his head.

"You mad because we smart." Ty said laughing.

"You ain't smart you just a nerd."

"Says the guy that failed kindergarten."

"Man shut up." Kev said pushing Ty hard. He almost fell through our table. Ty looked at him mad.

"Man yall chill." Before I could say anything else Ty was on top of Kev punching him and Kev was swinging back. I went over and pulled them apart.
