Wednesday.
After fixing Meriwether's depression, then came the "quiet" and "disappointment" troubles...
Meriwether...
When he was about to break in a bout of anxiety, his friend, William Clark came to the rescue: "Lewis! Lewis!" CALM DOWN!" "What's the matter my friend? 'You alright?" Clark asked Lewis.
"Are you sure I can still handle these fits of anxiety, Clark?" replied (and asked) Lewis, almost going teary.
"Well, in my opinion, my dear friend, I believe that you should handle your fits of anxiety...you just need help from me and Thom. I understand that it's quite hard an' all, but let me tell ye this: Thom an' I believe you can handle this."
Meriwether, a little comforted, grinned calmly at William and replied:
"I just don't want to embarrass myself in front of you, Will. It'll just make things worse..." Suddenly, still grinning, poor Meriwether went into small tears and cried...."William--I just don't want my anxiety to make you miserable an' all that" He gently took his stress ball and smelled it, then said: "I don't want to be an embarrassment to you and prefer not to spread my sole depressing, anxious, miserable sadness to you...ye know?
Clark gently came over to Meriwether and hugged him an' said: "I know, my friend, I know..."
Finally (and I mean it), Meriwether was less stressful, anxious, depressed, sad and awkwardly quiet. I believe after all those meetings and comforting, Lewis was now himself.
