To spend another day with you
Would be my greatest dream.
At the park or on the prom
Even for just a moment.
I miss the little notes you'd write
And the nights we met together alone.
You were my moon, my stars,
My nightlight to guide me thought the dark.
I wanted to stay like this forever
And I think you did too.
I wish you could be here right now
With me – your man – safe in your arms.
I thought my days of loneliness were gone
But when my eyes were pried open
I knew I was wrong.
I didn't see your charming face
And my head was no longer rested on your chest.
The only thing that remains
Are the fold memories of you.
Our love felt so strong that it's hard to believe
That all you were was just a dream.
