Stan Marsh walked down the busy halls of his high school with a frown on his face, feeling out of place. He goes to his locker and turns. Kyle's locker was opposite his.
Kyle He thought Kyle Brovfloski
Kyle used to be Stans super best friend but due to personal problems and fights within their relationship, they distanced away from each other. Stan had tried to stay friends with Kyle even though it wasn’t easy to talk to him about what had happened between them. But, Kyle didn’t want to talk, even though the two of them were supposed to stick together. That made sense to Stan since they never really talked after their fight either. After that night, they were strangers. And now, Kyle won’t talk to him ever again. He doesn’t know why he cares anyway; it's not like they would have anything to talk about anyways.
So why did it matter so much?

It isn’t just about Kyle. Stan realized a little too late that he has feelings for Kyle, and it hurt a lot more than he expected when they lost contact. Stan knew that he liked Kyle and that was okay because he loved Kyle more than anything else in the world except for maybe his mom. However, he still wanted the same friendship they had before they fought. He wanted to keep being best friends with his crush.

Well, he was going to have to settle for this instead. Even if his heart was breaking inside, he could try to find some happiness somewhere else. Stan decided that for the time being he would just go back to being happy and forget about everything else.  His crush on Kyle will remain a secret and he can focus on becoming popular, like always. He could do it if he kept telling himself that everything was going to be ok.

He was about to open his locker door again when he heard the sound of someone clearing their throat beside him.  His heart skipped a beat,  hoping it was Kyle. It was Eric Cartman. Stan wasn't surprised since he did this all the time but he couldn't help but feel disappointed. "Hey dude," Cartman said, with a stupid grin plastered on his face. "How are you?"
"Fine" Stan answered. He opened up his locker and pulled out his stuff.
"You know about the party next Friday? " Cartman  asked.
"Uh no …"
"It's at my house this weekend, man. I'm gonna invite everyone. You should come. " Cartman told him.
Stan shrugged,"I don't think I wanna be there."
Cartman frowned,"Why not? Everyone wants to see you."
"...."
"Cause Kyle is gonna be there?" Cartman asked. "Dude,-"
"Fine I'll go" Stan interrupted.
"Stan, you've gotta let go. The fight was forever ago. You've gotta make up  with him. You're both idiots."
" Ugh" Stan grumbled as he shut his locker door  and stuffed his books into his backpack. "Whatever"
