3rd POV ___________________________________
Maria stirred herself awake from her slumber. Cole had his arms wrapped around her as she recalled a successful alliance with Titania late in the afternoon. The Fae Queen agreed to kept her soulmate's identity and inquiry as a secret. This was to protect him and her image to Damian. Partaking to be a spy in Damian's court in favor of the open Queen seat. She is well aware of Damian's obsession with Maria and knew well that Damian is only using her. Maria made it clear that this war was to ensure everyone's future within the realm to be at peace due to Damian's chaotic nature. She did had a long discussion with Titania who offered her rather a different information aside Damian's plot. She had mentioned of an old acquittance coming back from the dead to speak with them once more. This puzzled the Vampire Queen as Titania further spoke of how Maria was fated to be his brother's wife.
"I am Cole's mate and he is my beloved, surely Prince Amir would not ask you-" she was cut off from Titania's cold tongue. The Fae had enough of keeping her composure, if her brother wouldn't tell Maria then she will.
"He didn't. ask away your seer, as I did with mine. Amir and I are ancient beings afterall, we have been round far longer than Damian. He had awaited your arrival since he was born. Yet your fate had change, when we were young. The seer had told us of a possible future where the Prince of Werewolves rejected his human mate. The human flee in despair and ended up in the forest, left to perish till she was blessed with the chance to become a fae. Later to in love and wed to the Prince of Fae with the wolf kingdom all ashes from Damian's demise."
"Cole would never reject me!" Maria proclaim with a glare towards the Fae.
"It was a possibility. Maria if you had arrived and Cole was never blind. He would have already mated and made his past lover as Luna." Maria could only nodded to Titania's words. It was true, it would have been a possibility.
"I am warning you with this upcoming acquaintance, do not trust people immediately. Basile told me you have raised your own banner too." Titania drank from her tea and brushed her tousled hair after a lovely day meeting her soulmate. Maria didn't mine that Titania looked like she fell down from a cliff. She had her experience with men and this was the only time they had to talk.
"I have enough scolding already from him." The little vampire scoffed.
"Took you long enough, I already had a few in surveillance of your new court. No one is making a move yet, that is good but not quite." Both agreed and had part ways afterwards. Titania had left with her soulmate to visit the fae realm as she cannot be seen with him at his pack land. Small sacrifices for the greater good, she said to Maria.
Cole's beating heart and soft breaths as he sleep was calming. It drowsed the tired vampire again. Later in the evening, she realized that Cole's warm body was no longer with her. The soft bed was a cold paved floor with dust and webs at her hair. She began to rise up from the floor shen she heard noises at the room. It was her own voice moaning and squealing in delight with a lover's touch. She tried to ask for help with a frighten heart, no voice came out. Only a cough with dry throat ached for something to drink. In the darken room, she was quick to her feet, moving frantically till she saw a reflection. She saw herself dressed again with Machurian clothing once more. Her face painted with a man on top of her, they were howling with pleasure as she made eye contact with herself. The being only smirked and continued kissing her lover.
The real her was trapped within the glass, distraught and horrified at the state she was in. She wasn't in control of her body or mind, her soul was trapped! She was banged the glass as hard as she could screaming for someone to help her get out. Yet no sound came out from her lips. Only for the mirror to break as it began to collapse, she saw Damian's figure coming closer as darkness enveloped the candle lit room. Her chest tight as she held her breath when he touched her chin, tears at her cheek. She was scared.
"Now the final ingredient, a sacrificial soul in exchange for Xuehua's soul. No will even remember who you are, you wouldn't exist, you wouldn't remember yourself" Damian spoke as he leaned towards her ear. He grabbed the front of her dress and pushed her towards the ground to fall on an endless void of darkness.
She woke up panting, screaming for help as tears pour down his face. Cole spring up from his side of the bed and tried comforting the disheveled Maria. She wouldn't stop crying all evening after the dream as Cole tried his best to calm her down. When morning came, he had brought her all she liked to eat but she didn't had the appetite. Avery was brought over to be feed and for Maria to feed from him as well. Talvir was being a good boy and had drank from his formula without any complains. Cole didn't want to leave Maria but he had a small meeting with his father to attend too.
