"Trunks!"
His head snapped towards the direction of the sound. His mother had been calling his name for over a minute now.
"Sorry mom, I kinda spaced out there"
"Kinda?"
"Well, maybe a lot. But don't worry I'm fine."
"Ahh... well, if you say so."Trunks felt guilty. This has been going on for a while now, him spacing out. Even when in conversations and conference meetings too. Being the CEO of Capsule Corp, he has a whole lot of responsibilities but ever since that night he had had trouble focusing or even functioning. Vegeta, his father also saw this. To be honest, he was quite annoyed although he acted like he didn't care. Trunks' and Goten's friendship was on a strain at this point, and Trunks knew why.
On one particular day, the young half-Saiyan decided to take his mind off everything by going to spar with Goku. He sparred for most of the day and when near sunset they decided to finish.
Goku had been observing the teen the whole time during the fight and he couldn't help but notice something was troubling him.
"Umm, Trunks?"
"Yeah?"
"You ok? You seemed kinda out if it today."
"Uh, yeah. I'm alright. Although I guess I've had things on my mind lately."
"Oh, I see. Well you know I'm not the type of person to give any kind of advice. Nor do I know what your issue is. But if it something you gotta figure out, then the best way to do that is by confronting the problem head on."
"...."
"Just hear me out... Maybe, just maybe you're running away, or you're scared to face it."With that Goku powered up for flight, saluted Trunks and flew off towards his home. Trunks stared out after him, Goku's words ringing in his ears. 'Am I running away? Am I scared?' Sighing, Trunks powered up and took off into the air.
Touching down on the balcony outside his room, he went in. He had a quick shower and called his butler and requested for his dinner to be brought up to his room. After eating, Trunks freshened up and headed to bed. All he could think about was what Goku told him earlier and dosed off into sleep.
