FOUR HOURS UNTIL DAWN
SAM - WASHINGTON LODGE BASEMENT 03:05
Making my way through the vent, I was relieved to finally find an end. Thank god. Turning myself around, I managed to kick the grate off. Panting, I climbed out and looked around. I was out of the vent, but where was I now?
Adjusting my towel, I began walking around, it was all I could do. Approaching a board on the wall behind me, I lifted up the map to find a blueprint of sorts for that... for that machine that this psycho had Chris and Ashley in. "This... this can't be right, oh my god." I gasped, reading out all the notes on this page.
Shaking my head, I kept walking around. "What's this?" I asked, taking a file out of the drawer. Ocean View Hospital: Health and Happiness. Wait... wasn't that the hospital Josh went to when he started having issues? It even had the same therapist on it, Dr. Hill. What was this doing here? The biggest surprising factor was finding Chris' name on it.
"What..?" I gaped, starting to flip through it. Biting my lip, I closed the file, not wanting to read anymore of this.
Continuing the walk, I found a phone on the table. "Jesus, this is Chris'." I grimaced, recognizing the nerdy phone case immediately.
I was starting to get an idea of what was going on, but it left a sick feeling in my stomach. No, it couldn't be true. It couldn't. But as I checked through his messages, it seemed like the only truth. Chris texting his mom before leaving that he was going up the mountains with Beth and they were going to have an unforgettable time. There were also a ton of messages between Chris and Hill... god, Chris sounded so angry in all these messages. It felt like that wasn't even him.
Setting the phone back down, I walked over to the other wall, finding a memorial board of Hannah and Josh. My heart ached at the sight, frowning. I still couldn't believe they were gone. "This is..." I whispered, gently taking a photo of Josh to look at it, "Jesus, Josh I miss you. You'd know what to do now because you'd have seen it in a horror movie.'.
Putting the picture back, I continued searching around for any other clues, more and more things pointing to the truth I didn't want to believe in. There was all kinds of creepy shit down here, and after almost being spotted by that freak, I wanted out of here.
As I walked forward, something grabbed my ankle making me nearly jump. "Sammy, it's me!" Jess exclaimed, letting go of my ankle as I crouched down.
"Jess? What are you doing here? There's a killer on the loose." I stated.
A whimper left Jessica, sniffling as she nodded, "I-I know, she got Mike.".
"What? We need to get out of here and find the others. We need to get out of here, this man is sick and dangerous. He... he attacked me, showed me videos of Chris being killed. But... I-I looked around, I think that he's a part of this and that he's still alive somehow." I explained, thinking over all the clues I had found.
"You can't be serious." Jess gaped, "There's no way.".
"He kept telling his mom that we'd all have an unforgettable night and there are plans everywhere. Jessica, he did this, I'm sure of it." I stated.
A stunned look crossed Jess' features, sniffling as she slowly nodded. "I always knew he was a fucking creep... b-but this..." Shaking her head, Jess looked over to her left, "Come here, there's a door.".
Finally, a way out. Not wasting any time, I unlocked the door and hugged Jess, so relieved to see someone again. "Sammy, are you seriously just in a towel...?" Jess asked. "Coming from the girl who was running around in a t-shirt and jeans without her boots." I quipped. "I didn't have time to grab them before..." Jess grimaced before looking around, spotting my backpack.
