Sage

Thursday came around faster than I expected and in between the days, I found time to focus on work and finalize the Yieldsure deal 😏.
Yes, they had no choice in the deal. I dropped in extra because I felt generous the day we concluded. I had barely been in touch with Bella because of her messed up schedule. But that changes today, ey?

Bella had a period of her life when she was depressed most of the time. That was the lowest point of hers and I promised myself never to see her get that way again. It was a shitty period for the both of us, each having a demon to defeat with no one in our corner. We were thousand miles away from each other and couldn't be there for ourselves.

Going down this path really drains me sometimes. But I'm thankful for how far we've both come.

I look up to the clock in my office and see it's 6pm. Guess I'll stay an extra hour before going over to Depraved. I usually go there when I want to have drinks or when Bel and I go out with friends for drinks. We go to other bars and clubs but its our first call whenever we want to take a breather. Good thing I know the owner huh?

My phone vibrates rhythmically, showing I have a call. Speak of the devil

"Hey you. What's up?," I pick up and answer.

"Nothing just getting ready for tonight's crowd. What time are you coming over?," she asked distractedly as I hear the faint music in the background.

"I'll be leaving in 1 hour and since I'm waiting till you're done, I'm having drinks tonight," I declare.

She chuckles loudly while I can imagine her shaking her head at me.
"I don't expect less, mama. You need to relax a bit. Plus, Frankie told me what you've been up to."

"Ohh damn Delgado can't keep a secret." I say

"Shut up, idiot. Don't give me that bullsh*t about keeping a secret. You knew why you didn't say anything to me about it. Knowing you, you didn't just find out about the discrepancies in the deal when you were meeting them."

I chuckle knowing she caught me red handed, "you know how I feel about written words in contracts. I can't make mistakes like they did."

"I know, I know. Anyway, text me when you get here so I can tell the bartender to get your Mate Maker ready," she says.

"Alright then. I'll let you know. You need me to grab something? Dinner? I know I'm starving but I don't know about you," I state flipping through the file on my desk.

"I just had breakfast earlier so you can grab me whatever you're having," Bel says before I hear someone in her background ask her questions.

"Gotta go, babe. See you in a bit," she says before cutting the call.

I drop my phone and press the button on my desk for Preston. I hear a knock on my door after few seconds.

"Come in," I call out and the door opens, following Preston walking in.

"You called?," he asks.

"Yes, please. I need a review of my schedule for next week, the Anderson file and our list of suppliers for our hardware. I would also love to go over this before 7. You can have tomorrow off."

"Thank you, Ms. Michel. Let me bring in my notepad and files," he says before walking out to get his things.

As soon as Preston walks back in, he settles on the seat opposite my desk and opens his notepad so we can proceed.

I'm on my way to Depraved after I pick up dinner from a diner close to my office. They have the best pasta around the area and their meals taste like they're homemade.
