Chapter Twenty-eight - Antigen

(For explanation again, infected people and people who were tested on have a different way or turning into one of the monsters. Infected people get really sick and one part of their body where the injection is spreading starts to go black, eventually taking over the whole body and tuning them. People who were tested on and turned into them like that, have really quick reaction to it, they turn in a matter of minutes, they start shaking violently, foam out of their mouth, sweat and again their veins turn black but way faster)

Also I rushed this a bit so, sorry for bad writing, it's hard to read I know, next chapter will be better

Mitsuri’s pov

I walked into the cafeteria and quickly snatched a knife, putting it in my pocket quickly. Once I had the knife, I walked towards the room where Tanjiro and others were locked in.

I opened the door and the second I walked in, I stabbed one of the guards who was watching them. Everyone looked at me with a wide smile. I grabbed a key out of the guards pocket and ran to them, quickly unchaining them.

Kotetsu hugged me tightly, praising me and jumping around happily. I picked him up and looked at everyone with a serious look “okay, guards are at the other side of the lab, they will be around here in like ten minutes, I will lead you to one place where they don’t go and you will wait there while I get Mui, understand?”

Everyone nodded and quickly followed me out of the room. I led them far away, making sure that no one saw us. I put Kotetsu into Sanemi’s arms, about to run away but Tanjiro stopped me “I am going too”

“what? T-Tanjiro no, it’s okay, I can do this” I said, trying to sound confident but it was clear that I was slightly panicking. “No, I am going, just tell me what you need me to do” he said and I gave him a small nod “okay, follow me”

We ran throughout the long hallway, soon getting to the place where Muichiro was locked up. Once I opened the door.. he wasn’t there. “Where is he?” Tanjiro said in panic and I just quietly stood there, remembering what Shinobu told me.

“Shit, we have to hurry” I said quickly and began to run again with Tanjiro following right behind me. When we got closer and closer to the main laboratory, we heard streaming and crying and soon enough, we stopped in front of the room, looking into it through the glass.

There he was with other test subjects, being tied to chairs and already being tested on. “Shit.. shit shit shit! We have to hurry!” I yelled out and grabbed a fire extinguisher from the wall, immediately breaking the glass with it.

I handed a knife to Tanjiro before throwing the fire extinguisher at one of the doctors. Tanjiro immediately charged at one of them who was injecting something into Muichiro. Unfortunately, before he could get to him in time, he already injected all of it.

“Mui, it’s okay! I am here now, we’ll get you out of here!” Tanjiro yelled out, untying Muichiro quickly while I was making sure that no one got out of the room alive. When I stabbed one of the girls into her neck, I moved to my right, ready to stab again but.. I stopped.

“Mitsuri.. what are you doing..?” Shinobu mumbled, looking behind me at all of the bodies who were lifelessly laying there.

“Come on, Muichiro, what’s wrong?! Can you hear me?!” Tanjiro yelled out as he was trying to get Muichiro to say something but without success. I turned back to look at Shinobu who sadly dropped a needle on the floor “..you don’t actually love me.. you manipulated me..”
