Tanjiro’s pov
Couple more days later, Muichiro and I were sitting at the table. I finally managed to make Muichiro eat properly without having any problems.
He were still having nightmares and were stressing a lot about Genya and stuff but it seemed to get better. He wasn't thinking about it 24/7 which was good.
We both suddenly heard the shelter door open. Muichiro's eyes widened before he immediately ran there and I did too.
When I ran over to the entrance of the shelter there was Genya and Sanemi. Genya held Muichiro in his arms as Muichiro had his legs wrapped around his waist, sobbing.
Mitsuri walked into the room and smiled "Genya! Sanemi! Oh I am so glad you are both okay!" She said and placed her hands on her chest, sighing in relief.
I looked at Muichiro and Genya. Genya was saying something while looking into his eyes before pulling him into a kiss. I felt my mood immediately worsen.
"Genya, Sanemi, you're covered in blood, how about you go take a shower while I prepare some clean clothes and food for you?" Mitsuri said kindly.
"Yeah, I am starving" Genya laughed and looked at Muichiro "come on Mui, let go of me" he said trying to pull Muichiro away but he was holding onto him for dear life.
Genya sighed and looked over at me, signaling something. I immediately realized what he wanted. I came over and pulled Muichiro off of him.
Muichiro looked at me with an upset look before reaching for Genya's hand. Then they both walked to another room.
I sighed and leaned against the wall. Mitsuri looked at me and came over to me "are you alright, Tanjiro? Are you feeling okay?" She asked worriedly.
"Oh! Yes yes I am alright, just something on my mind" I said, getting quieter by the end. "Do you need to talk about it?" She asked and moved closer to me.
I sighed and whispered "I think I am… in love with Muichiro"
"YOU ARE W-" she yelled out but I covered her mouth. "You heard me correctly, yes… I am in love with him"
"Tanjiro… oh dear I am so sorry, it must be painful watching them.. you know"
"N-No it's fine, I'll get over it sooner or later"
"Well… you never know what can happen… maybe he will develop something towards you as time passes"
"I doubt that, have you seen those two being all lovey dovey?"
"I know I know but.. please don't lose hope.. I mean.. it must hurt and you might have a feeling of giving up but.. things happen and nothing is impossible if you try, just keep talking to him and maybe something will happen.."
"Yeah… thank you Mitsuri"
"It's no problem, if you have any similar problems just come to me, I'll be happy to help"
Mitsuri said and walked away. I sighed and went back to my bedroom.
