Cole’s P.O.V:

I was so mad because the stupid other ninja had to ruin my moment like who do you think you are!

"Hi Cole, how was practice," my dad asked.

"You mean school. I don't go to dance practice anymore, remember?" I asked.

"Yeah, I do. I actually have a little gift for you," my dad said.

"What?" I asked.

He gave me a gift and I opened it. It was a new pair of headphones!

"How did you know?" I asked.

"I noticed that your old ones were breaking, so I decided to get you this," he said.

"But, I thought we didn't have the money for this," I said.

"I managed to get it," my dad said.

I hugged my dad and I knew he felt a shock because he didn't hug me back instantly. But, he slowly did. I felt tears streaming down. This was the first time I hugged my dad in years!

"I'm sorry, dad. For everything, for being rude, for having things always be my way, for never listening to you, I'm sorry," I said.

"It’s ok, just always remember, I will always love you," my dad said.

"I will, too," I said.

"Now go freshen up! You will be late for work and then you do have to go to DJ practice with Master Wu, right?" My dad asked.

"Yes, I will go get ready for that, thanks again," I said.

I went to my room and looked at my new pair of headphones. I remembered all the fights I used to have with my dad. But, he still managed to know what I wanted and he still loves me.

I took a shower and then I got ready to go to work. All my friends and I worked at the coffee shop. I said 'bye' to my dad which I rarely do. Then, I went on my bike and I biked to the coffee shop.

When I entered the shop, I noticed that Jay and Nya were the only ones there.

"Good morning," said Manager Hana,"I see that all of you are going to come here earlier than normal because of the fire."

"That's right, but I wonder what caused it," I said.

"Me, too. I did try to investigate it, but there was nothing," Nya said.

"Anyways, where is Kai?" I asked.

"He is at the hospital with Skylor. She was stuck in the building during the fire," Nya said.

"That’s terrible," I said.

"I know, it is," Nya said.

Well after our conversation I started working in the back. My job was mostly to make the coffee. Kai and I usually worked on the coffee, Zane and P.I.X.A.L on the donuts, but they weren't here so Jay had to, then Jay at the cleaning, Lloyd with serving, and then Nya and Skylor as the cashiers.

This was the busiest coffee shop in Ninjago City, so that is why there had to be a lot of workers. I started making the coffee and I put it in the coffee maker.

There were a lot of orders in the morning so I had to work quickly and Kai wasn’t here so I had to work double the amount. No matter how hard I worked I still made the minimum wage which was $15 per hour.

So far I have saved up $1,234 in my bank account. I do spend money sometimes, but I am working on saving money for college which I have no interest in going to. Just my dad wants me to go so I am pretending to save up.

As customers were pouring in, I got a message from Master Wu who wasn’t my DJ teacher, but instead my Master who taught me everything that I need to know to become just like my mother. But, he told me to keep it a secret, so that is what I am doing today.

I went over to the manager, Hana, to ask her if I can take a leave.

"Hey Hana, I was wondering if I can take an early leave because I have to do some important business, but I promise I will come back when it is my actual shift," I said.

"Ok, Paul was coming to do his shift anyway, so you may go," Hana said.

"Really? Thank you!" I said, walking out of the coffee shop.

I walked down the streets and then through an alleyway and then another until I reached a hidden passage which was a click of a brick away. As the ground turned I was in a monastery.

"Master Wu? I am here!" I said.

I looked around until I saw Master Wu meditating in his meditation room. I sat down in front of him and started meditating as well. But, instead of peace, the only thing I saw were my nightmares!

I was standing on a tall rocky mountain that was in the middle of a desert. No life to be seen. I was hot and humid. When I looked down I noticed how high up I was. My hands started sweating, my legs started trembling. How did I get here?! I tried to calm down by looking up, but then I saw a giant rocky, brown dragon with sharp teeth coming at me.

"Ahhhh!" I screamed as my eyes opened.

"Lesson number 10: Embrace courage and confront your fears. Don't let fear hinder your growth!" Master Wu said.

"And how would I do that, Master?" I asked.

"Follow me," he said as he got up.

He was leading me all over the monastery until we got to the place where dragons were kept. Was I dreaming?! There was the same dragon there that I had dreamed about.

"Let go of your fears and embrace courage! Don't let fear control you," Master Wu said.

"B-but, how?" I asked.

He pushed me with his staff and now I was in a herd of dragons. I kept screaming and screaming until I opened my eyes and saw that the dragons weren't hurting me. What was going on? I put my hand out and closed my eyes and then I felt a scaling texture.

"Ew!"

I opened my eyes and the dragon was brushing its nose on my hand.

"From this point forward, consider yourself the guidance of the Earth dragon. Embrace its power!" He said.

I felt like for two seconds I was just scared of these creatures and now I have one of my own. I am living the dream!

"I will name you Rocky!" I said.

I hopped on its back and went for a ride which didn't go as planned. We were so high up that I felt like puking.

"Ahhhhh!!!! Help Master Wu!!! Help me!!" I yelled.

I closed my eyes as the dragon kept going and then I took some deep breaths. Once I opened my eyes, I felt a little scared, but then I managed to cope with it. I could do this! Cole, you can do this!

I was riding the dragon, but it was really hard to control so I had to learn from Master Wu how to ride a dragon. And then after that I went to the coffee shop.

At least everything was at peace. I was making coffee and still no sign of Kai, but at least the rest came, but Skylor of course. For some reason P.I.X.A.L wasn't here either. Jay helped me with the coffee and then after my shift was over I went back home.

I had homework, but I didn't feel like doing it so I just layed on my bed, put my new headphones on and closed my eyes. Now this was the dream!
