My eyes suddenly opened. No, not this place again! For a second or two, the lights seemed to be silent, but the nagging sound suddenly channelled through my ears, causing me to recoil in shock. I looked to my side. The arrow. I gripped the wall and pulled myself up. Opening the door, I noticed other arrows. Where would they take me? I cautiously followed each one, making sure it wasn't taking me anywhere suspicious. The lights seemed to become brighter and brighter. Not long after exploring, I had to place my non-broken arm to protect my eyes from the neon whiteness. I squinted.
"Ow, why is it so bright?" I asked myself.
I rubbed my eyes, and the lights instantly dimmed to its normal brightness. I must've been hallucinating again. The arrows became smaller and smaller until there was one minuscule one left. It pointed towards an expansive corridor, which was extremely narrow. I had enough of this.
"Where is the exit!?" I screamed, and I punched the wall with all my might. It crumbled and the wall dented. Then, small fragments fell to my feet. I glared at the hole I made with my eyes narrowed and brow furrowed. I heard something from above me. I scowled at the source of the sound and a large piece of the wall collapsed down towards me. Everything went black.
I awakened. Blood trickled down my face. I crawled out of the space I was in away from the rubble and looked around. The long hallway beckoned me to come, and at the very end stood a door. I dragged myself towards it. I had little to no hope for living now. I was in agonising pain.
As I got nearer to the door, I heard a screech behind me. It sounded inhumane, and my heart must've skipped a beat. Behind me, at the far end of the corridor, was a tall, slender creature. It was jet-black and had a siren-like face. Noticing me, it started creeping up towards me, steadily picking up pace. It changed from walking to jogging and then to running and finally sprinting. I cried out, begging for someone to open the door. No one answered. I used all of my strength to pull the handle and the door creaked open. A soft breeze blew into my face, giving me a sense of warmth. Just as the creature reached up to me, someone rapidly pulled me inside and slammed the door on it. Was I safe? I looked up. Towering over me was a boy, around my age(12.) He had black hair and was quite small.
I noted my surroundings - a small room with beige wallpaper; different to all the other rooms I have come across, a quiet light; giving me time to catch my thoughts, and a table lying in the middle with two chairs.
"Hello, are you alright mate?" He inquired, I saw your head poking from the wall."
"Uh, I guess," I answered, "Except for the fact that my arm is broken, I think I have a concussion, a monster almost murdered me, and I am lost in an infinite retail outlet."
I was too tired to realise that he said my head was poking from the wall."
"Ah, I see. Let's see if I can help you with your arm; position your arm into the air so I can put a cast on you."
"Alright, then."
As he tucked my cast securely around me, I asked him who he was and where we were.
"My name is Harry. I don't exactly know where we are right now, as I only arrived here a week ago. I almost died. No food or anything. When I came across this room, there was a lady. She was part of a group named 'M.E.G' or something. Anyway, she gave me a backpack and she wandered outside. I heard a groan and footsteps. In fear, I closed the door, and I felt her pounding on the door while being eaten by something. I heard bones being crunched, and blood splatter everywhere; it was horrific. After the creature walked away, I checked to see the damage it caused. Surprisingly, there was no evidence of her death, and I was astonished. For the past few days, I have rationed myself on her leftover food, waiting for someone else to come. Then I found you. When you are well enough to walk, read these papers and you will have a better understanding of this place."
