Falling through a similar void to where I first came to this place, I waited patiently to see where I would land. The ground enlarged beneath me until I collided with it. BANG. As I expected, my head throbbed and it took me a good 10 seconds to focus.
Where am I now?
I was in a room as large as a normal office room in a building. The brick walls were covered in a thin sheet of snowy wallpaper, and the floor was wooden.
Finally, a place without a carpet!
The lights were small and evenly spread out, surprisingly not ringing into my ears. Beige tables were scattered everywhere, containing one chair, one or two succulent plants, and a monitor. All of these were in an enclosed space, with walls reaching halfway to the lights, and hiding the other tables and chairs. I hesitantly stood up, my head still vibrating, and wandered towards one of the computers. Below the table was a small power button with a blue ring around it. It was already on. Waving the mouse around, a neon light illuminated and the screen appeared. I opened up Google.
"Wait, do I have any connection?"
Glancing at the wifi symbol, I realised it had three bars.
"Yes! Oh my. If I can get the internet to my phone I can contact my family."
Before searching for this place on the web browser, I picked up my phone and went to my settings. The wifi was called 'backrooms_level0' and it didn't have a password. I sighed in relief. With wifi, I decided to text my dad.
Hello? Where are you? - Yesterday at 16:02
If you don't answer we'll have to call the police. Answer now! - Yesterday at 16:26
Josh. Please. Answer. - Yesterday at 17:09
I don't know where you are or if you're okay, but the police are currently trying to find you. Stay safe for me. - Today at 8:02
Tears trickled from my eyes. Wiping them away, afraid to start bursting out crying, I typed in the words:
Hey. I am not sure if I am safe if you'll ever find me, or if I can never come back. I know you won't believe me, but I will tell the truth even if it is bizarre. I fell through the pavement somehow yesterday and ended up in this place called the backrooms. You must've heard me mention it before. If you want to see me again, you'll have to try and no-clip. It happens randomly and you can't prepare unless you certainly know what you are doing. I don't recommend it. - Today at 1̵̪̼̺̒8̶͍̠͔̘̊̈́̐͐1̴̰̜̤̫͐̈́̕8̵͖̽͑3̴͈͇͍̣̔̽̈́͝8̵͘͜ͅ:̸͙͓̼̔͂̈9̷͖͉̳̃͆̀̈́4̷͖͖͖̾̅́̒1̴̨̯̞͖́̈́̐̿8̴͉̝̐3̵͙̯̖̫͑̕3̷͚͛͂.
What was the time?! Almost instantly, he read it, and replied with:
Look, please come back. I don't know what we did, but if you come back, we won't punish you. If you are not lying, which is doubtful, then tell me more. I don't care how dangerous it may be where you are, I want to find you. - Today at 16:03.
At least I sort of knew what time it was. I wanted him to come and find me, so I wouldn't always be alone, but I knew that I was only extremely lucky to escape that part of level 0 because of that guy named Harry.
Do you want to know? Fine. If you die then it isn't my fault, I am only very lucky to find this place named the manilla room and that is how I escaped. Anyway, I'm not sure if Google would know, but search up 'the backrooms.' That is where I am. - Today at 1̵̪̼̺̒8̶͍̠͔̘̊̈́̐͐1̴̰̜̤̫͐̈́̕8̵͖̽͑3̴͈͇͍̣̔̽̈́͝8̵͘͜ͅ:̸͙͓̼̔͂̈9̷͖͉̳̃͆̀̈́4̷͖͖͖̾̅́̒1̴̨̯̞͖́̈́̐̿8̴͉̝̐3̵͙̯̖̫͑̕3̷͚͛͂.
I took a picture of where I was with my face in. Oh my gosh. I looked bad. My hair was full of dust and debris, my face had black and brown dirt all over it somehow, and I seemed to be exhausted. Not surprising. I scrambled for something to eat from my bag. I grabbed the Snickers bar and wolfed it down. Not even thinking about rationing like I should've done. Energy coursed through my veins, and I jumped to my feet. I rapidly typed,
Well, I'm going to try and find another place, but if you manage to find yourself here, make sure to go in a straight line, be careful of the monster here, and bring some food and water with you. Other supplies are optional. - Today at 2̴̼̙͋5̵̨̞́͗5̵̢͉̜͔͑3̶͎̠̬̝̔4̸̘̅̇̕͠5̸͍̻̩͑2̵̼̜̞̟̃̌3̴̧̬̕3̸͉̓:̵͚̗͔̀̍̓͝ͅ9̵̝̿̑̕3̴̛̠̬̗̥̈4̴̭̮̹̊̓̃̚5̷͎́̀͜3̸̻͆1̶̛͙̜͊5̵̡̱͒̀̚ͅ
I scavenged for a door to go through. In the distance, on the other side of the room, a long hallway beckoned me towards it. I charged, hoping to find a new place.
It led to another vent, but this one seemed to be large enough to walk through, so I did just that. LED lights hung at the top of it, helping me find my way through. Around three-quarters of the way through, a rotting corpse blocked the way to the end. It was rancid. Welts were dotted around him, from head to toe. He must've been stung to death in... here?! I kicked the body, and the ragdoll flew right at the end. It slipped off and a loud THUD echoed throughout the nearby room. Upon reaching the end, I got ready to jump. As I looked down, though, I realised that it led to darkness, and I couldn't even see the bottom of the room. Instead, a thin piece of floor led the way to the other side of the room.
"Oh, no."
I was bad at balancing. I almost plummeted into the abyss at those pitfalls. Behind me, a sound began to blare into my ears. It was a screeching sound. Not like that tall black creature that almost ripped me apart. It was more high-pitched. Not daring to glance behind me, I leapt into the air. Praying to god, I balanced on the thin floor, carefully but swiftly sprinting towards the other side of the room. What would happen if I fell? Would I survive? Dozens upon dozens of questions swarmed my mind, not allowing me to rest.
Near the end, the floor widened, making it easier for me to zoom to the end. The creature was right behind me now, and slowing down even the tiniest bit would certainly result in it reaching me. It could be trying to help me for all I know, but I didn't risk finding out. Upon reaching the end, I swung the door open and slammed it behind me. The creature was banging its head on the door, but it seemed to have no arms. I was safe. Looking behind me was a corridor. I strolled towards it, attempting to be confident.
I entered the corridor. It felt like the temperature dropped suddenly because the once somewhat warm room changed into an almost unbearable temperature. I began to sweat. I decided to take a break; after all, I got chased down by an unknown entity and almost fell to my death.
I leaned onto the wall, not knowing that I was sinking. Before my brain could react to my knees stuck in the ground, I began to fall. Plummet even. Was this the exit to level 0?
