Mistakes and Consequences

Chapter 1

A perfect day, with her perfect lover.. Raine whispers. Sitting on the beach, holding hands.  "Raine.. This is beautiful" eda said in a soft voice. As eda turned her head, Raine was gone. Eda looked dumbfounded, then everything turndes dark.  She stood up, and called out for Raine. "Raine?..! Raine!!?" She eda, then a small spot light showed up, there was Raine, with another girl in their arms. Eda ran over, and saw them kiss. Eda just stared, looked shocked. When they stopped kissing Raine looked at her. "Oh, your still here? No matter.. Have a good life.. Edalyn"  the ground crumbled under her, and eda fell.

Eda jerked up in bed, her alarm clock reading 4:21 am. Eda groaned and rubbed her eyes. Dreams like this.. We're constant.. Every night so she didn't sleep well.  Usually, eda didn't try and go back to sleep either, she can't take 2 nightmares in one night.  Eda went to the bathroom, and looked in the mirror, the tank top she had on was going off her shoulder a bit, and she could imagine Raine kissing nher shoulder, no matter how much it hurts, she missed it. 

Eda got in the shower to wake herself up, then got ready for the day.   By the time eda was dressed, did her hair, and makeup with wasn't much, it was 5 am. Eda sighed, then went to the kitchen.  There, eda started brewing coffee, and packing a lunch for her adopted daughter nakusa.  Peanut butter and jelly sandwich, potato chips, a juice box, store bought jello, and a zip lock bag, with 2 cookies in it.  When eda's coffee was ready she poured some, and spiked it with vodka, regardless of it being 5:30 in the morning. 

At 6:30  eda woke up nakusa, who was a sleep fighter. Eda shook nakusa oncexrhen ducked, to avoid the flying foot heading for her nose, then pulled the covers off  her, then moved to the side to avoid the flying fist. Then said the magic words. "Oh look..a cookie" she said loud enough for nakusa to hear. Nakusa immediately jumped up, and looked around, and fell off her bed. "Ow.. You damn traitor.. " she said, looking up at eda, who had a smirk on her face. "Yeah, yeah.. Get ready for school kiddo" eda said, then left.

about 20 minutes later, nakusa came up fully dressed, and struggling with a hair clip, which eda fixed for her.  "thanks eda" she said, with not much emotion.  then was tossed a monster energy drink. both took a significant their beverage. "hey, can i try some on your vodka?" nakusa asked. eda gave her a look, after putting her cup down. "what did i say about underaged drinking?" eda asked with a "mom look" nakusa sighed, "no underaged drinking untill I'm 17.." She repeated, "atta girl" eda said with a light chuckle the grabbed her keys.  "Alright, let's head to hell" eda said, as nakusa followed her to the car.

Eda dropped nakusa off at school, then went to work. Did eda like her job? No she did not, but it was a good pay, and she had bills to, such the situation of every single mother, biological or not.   Eda worked at a esurance company, and it was simple enough. 

When eda got to work, she clocked in, and went to her desk. "Theres that crazy bitch" Darius said, walking up to her. "Gay boy, morning to you to"  eda said with a chuckle. "How's that little cookie addict of yours?" Darius asked jokingly. "In prison" eda said back in school. "Damn- what did she do?" Darius asked. Eda rolled her eyes. "Not really in prison, she's at school.. It's wensday you fool" eda said, making Darius scoff.

Meanwhile, nakusa was being herself. 
While in a music class, when she wasn't really paying any attention. She was day dreaming of different ways to beat up Darius.. And jokes to call him gay she chuckled at one if them and her teacher noticed. "Nakusa? What's so funny?" They asked. "Oh-.. Uh.. Nothing, MX whispers" nakusa said, and he cleared her throat. "Well come see me after class" they said with a smiled, and kept teaching. 

After class, nakusa went up to their desk. "Nakusa, I noticed that you've been distracted lately, can you tell me why" they asked in a calm tone with a smile. "Yeahhh.. No" nakusa answered, Raine was taken aback by this, and cleared their throat. "Well.. Is everything alright at home?" They asked. "Everything is fine" nakusa said, clearly very bored. Raine then sighed, and write a quick not and handed it to nakusa. "Give this to your parents for me, please?" Raine asked. "Sure, whatever" she said, and left.

When eda picked nakusa upset was regular conversation. "Soo.. Anything at school happened?" Eda asked. "Um.. My music teacher wants to see you-" nakusa was cut off. "Yeah.. No I ment the drama" eda said. "Did you just cut me off?" Nakusa asked. "Yes kiddo I did, and I'm very sorry, but I don't really give a damn about your teacher... So.. Drama?" Eda asked. Nakusa told eda every little bit of drama that happened that day. It was their way of bonding. Eda was more of a motherly friend, then an actual mom, and they both liked it that way.

They next day when eda went to pick up nakusa, she went down to her teacher. "Soo.. What did you do anyway?" Eda asked. "Eh.. I wasn't paying attention" nakusa said. "Ah-.. Been there.. Is.. This this your music class?" Eda asked pointing to a room. "Yep" nakusa replied. Eda and nakusa walked in. "You must be-.. Eda!?" Raine said, shocked, eda looked up, and saw them, and immediately welled up.  "Hey.. Calamity, been awhile" raine said with a small smiled. Eda just left the room, and didn't say anything.  Raine looked sad.. The knew why she didn't like them right now.. But wish she knew the truth, and understood. "Nakusa, make sure your mother is okay" Raine requested. "Alright weirdo" she said, and left as well.
