" Merry Christmas," Everyone shouted in glee. Snowbound, means snow so high you can't see out the windows. A path shoveled to the Barns and Belgium. Amishman shoveled us out. Except, snowed in till possibly springtime. There has never been a bad snowstorm like it yet in these parts.
   Everyone decided to have our Christmas Eve at Martha House unit. She'd decorated all up for Christmas time as we all had. Much to our liking it is snacks tonight because of Christmas Day a ham and Turkey diner, where we all bring food for a meal.
    Serving chili, bowls, plus spoons to eat it, cheese and crackers, sliced summer sausage, cubed cheese and sweet pickles, cottage cheese fruit cocktail on top, deviled eggs, ham salad sandwiches, decorated sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, molasses cookies, and chocolate balls. Serving hot apple cider, cocoa, kaffi, and coals.
    The prettiest real tree lit up, smelling so much like pine. Cute Santas set around tables for decoration. Tonight all of us hugged, happy, taking it all in about being snowed in. Underneath the tree small wrapped gifts in Christmas paper. Which was found upstairs in the attic, bows, and some things to use as gifts.  Such treasures for sure.
      Sitting around the tree, just chilling in and eating of course waiting to open a few gifts. Since romance has bloomed some hand-holding as of late. Feels guy to be able to find love. Right before gifts opened, The Amishman taking flashlights, and getting bundled up for winter, stepped outside to feed the beasts.
      They entered inside singing Christmas songs of old. "Silent night all is calm, all is bright ."
     "Waaaaa, aaah, waaaa", They quickly ran to a corn crib full of straw and a baby wrapped in thick blankets. Warm as toast, a bottle fell from the wee babe's mouth. Ezra's first words out of his mouth were, " Why it's a bubbly ( baby) know ones here with the wee one, I'm dumbfounded, to say the least."
    " Pick him up gently Ezra, or I guess, I can do it," Harley said.
     " I wonder if it is a boy or girl, poor soul," Andrew said astonished.
    Inside waiting for the Amishman to come back. They were enjoying cookies and ham salad sandwiches. "'I hear them coming in," Martha said. " Wait a minute is that a bubbly I hear crying? Lucile said. " It can't be, can it? Natalie chimed in.
    " Oh my, it's, it's a bubbly of all things and during a snow storm," Martha said carrying a baby in from the kitchen. Harley handed it to her," Boy or girl we shall soon find out after I unwrap the poor dear."
    They all hovered around Martha , looking down on the baby . Aghast , yet happy at the same time. " Let's see what we've got here , she lay the baby down on a fur blanket on the floor in front of the fire place nice and warm there.
Gently ever so gently, she unwrapped it inside a baby dressed in blue , a safety pinned not baby boy Clyde , Thank you for taking him in , I'd noticed you to be a good family , and I can no longer hide him from my family you see I'm not Amish and his father is. Please take care . Mother ( Flower)
She picked him up kissed and hugged him, " I will give him a gut Home all of us are going to. When the snow leaves we shall have social services , and the sheriff right this minute."
" Ezra you must call the Sheriff on the cell phone right away, give full details of how you found Clyde."
" Yes, this is Ezra Troyer , I'm calling to give details of finding a baby out here in the barn oh about forty five minutes ago. His name tag says his name is Clyde , no signs of the Mater Zah ."
There is no way of coming getting through , and Sheriff Albert Peachy knew us , and would turn it in right away to social services.
After hanging up from him , related the message to them all. " First things first , I seen a baby bed upstairs we cleaned a bassinet, I will bring it down for him ." With that statement he turned on his heal and left to the attic.
" Can I hold Clyde Martha ? Neitali asked ?
" Come sit on the floor next to him ."
She did , gently she rubbed his tiny back picking him up laying him on her shoulder. Lucille came and joined the girls.
" You all look like his Mater," Ezra said laughing. Then they all laughed quietly. Harley set gifts out next to the person who's name was on it. " You go first Martha said Andrew. " If you insist, " She laughed. Inside a small silver tin reading on its front Napkins, another a small bottle of lemon verbena, a shampoo , a small jewelry box. " I love them Dankee everybody ."
" You go Lucile ." "Oh ok , i will, how exciting ." First off a pair of Bobby socks, her favorite, a small change purse in black suede, a jewelry box." " I love them so much Dankee everyone."
Neitalie ripped hers open," Oh look a brush and comb set in gold plated silver, some embroidered handkerchiefs, a letter opener," These things are so beautiful Dankee.
The Amishman each got a big five-pound box of store purchased from Germany at a store in town before Grosspapa died. They hugged us so happy to get a beautiful box of expensive candy.
" I just wanted to tell everyone since I'm holding Christmas Eve, it's been splendid that's for sure. And best of all finding Clyde. " Dad," he suddenly cooed kicking his tiny feet, chewing on his bottle, gurgling," Dad, Dad."
They all laughed," Goodness, gracious."
The next thing is giving the baby hugs for a good night in his new bassinet. He's so big he might out grow it before long. We mustn't worry for there is an entire wardrobe in the attic, baby bed, dresser, and changing table.
The Girls would start making clothes right after Christmas.
