The next morning, Azalea waved her wand growing some wildflowers. She proceeded to cut them and conjured a vase to place them in. Regretting people knowing about her Lavender car she got in and 'drove' to the hospital to go and see Caroline and check in on hr friend. She knew that Damon had slipped her some blood, but she wanted to see her. She stayed for around half an hour before she excused herself, to go over to the Lockwood gathering for the mayor. After speaking to Mrs Lockwood and Tyler, she decided to go out for some fresh air. Looking at the flowers in the garden with a smile. As she turned to look towards the little bridge in the centre of the garden she saw Elena, her hair was curly... and she was wearing –

Katherine.

She froze, and as she did so Katherine smirked and raised her glass. The vampire took a swig before making her way towards the redhead.

"I imagine our conversation did not remain private," she said as she got closer.

"No, it didn't,"

"And they told you not to trust me. Look," she said matter-of-factly. "If nothing else I don't want the whole magical community after my head if something happened to you."

"But that's not why you offered?" Azalea raised her brow.

Katherine tilted her head, her smirk wider.

"See you around, Azlaea." She said before strutting back towards the party. She texted the 'in the know' group, warning them that Katherine was at the Lockwood's.

Once she was home, she got out of her dress, she made herself and Alaric some food before she decided that before the Salvatore brothers came to her asking if Katherine spoke to her – or what she may have said – she would go to them and explain it. She turned with a loud crack landing in their kitchen.

"I've never loved you. It was always Stefan." She heard Katherine say from the other room. She rushed in to see the two vampires very close together. There closed ruffled and... Oh Damon.

"Hello Azalea," she said walking away from Damon, towards her and the door. The redhead ignored her and rushed to the raven headed vampire and hugged him tightly. He didn't respond.

"Get out, you heartless bitch," she hissed, keeping her arms around her friend.

"She's already gone," he said, she could hear the pain in his voice.

"Shh, come on. It's ok."

She guided him to the sofa, where she put his head on her shoulder. Hugging him close to her.

"You are so much better than her," she whispered rubbing the distraught vampires back. The two stayed in silence, the fire crackling, and their breathing filling the silence.

"Can you stay?" he asked quietly after around ten minutes. "Stop me from doing something stupid."

"Like going to see Elena?" she said softly, taking his hand with an understanding smile. "Sure Damon, come on. Let's get some blankets and watch some films I should have seen by now," she said, getting up and offering her hands to tug him to his feet.

The two settled by the sofa. Azalea organised the snacks on the table, once she was done she flopped down beside the sad vampire, who had picked the first film. He hit play then immediately hit pause. His head turned to look at her.

"Did you come here to talk about something?" he asked her, as he seemed to realise that she hadn't planned to be here.

"We can talk about it tomorrow, it wasn't important." She promised. He frowned slightly, she smiled reassuringly. "It wasn't an emergency I swear."
