"GET SECURITY HERE NOW"

Everyone was scrambling out of the way.

Malika's heart pounding against her chest, she got on stage smiling, acting, pretending that there hadn't been someone with a gun in the changing rooms not too far away.

"Hello everyone, thank you for coming. This line was inspired by my time in Norway, the flower fields there were something out of this world. And just like there, I sought to capture the way in which tulips frame around themselves, in a subtle form, almost vulnerable in their strength.

"I sought to capture the feel of the wind flowing through the fields, the scents carrying around you, the feeling of being part of such a beautiful moment. That beautiful flow of the colours. Welcome to Ambedo, the melancholic trance," she introduced, fighting down the nausea, the dizziness, the sheer terror she was feeling.

Stepping into backstage, the stage hands looked just how Malika felt, stressed and terrified. Even so, they ushered the models into the holding area, the show had to continue. She looked at Belle, the new lead. In spite of having her life threatened a few moments ago, she looked put together, her face impassive, her posture poised and confident. She deserved a raise, everybody that had been here today deserved one.

Flo had rushed into the venue, raving about Bill trying to kill her. Confused, Malika had let her in. Her first mistake. Regardless of their prior encounters, she was a woman in danger, in that moment Malika didn't care for the months of stress she had put her through.

Not ten minutes later, Bill had shown up, gun in hand threatening to kill everyone to 'get to Flo'. He had then started threatening Malika and Belle, going on and on about them replacing Flo, stressing that they needed to give her back her spot in the line up or he'd 'put enough bullets in them to rival a machine gun shop'.

As he had been going on, Malika had managed to get close enough to him to disarm him as well as lay on him a few punches. Security had then rushed in cuffing him, before pressing him to the floor in wait for the police to arrive. All the while he ranted and raved, sending threats her way. The more time passed, the more graphic and disturbing they became.

Flo, on the other hand, had rushed to Malika, begging her to let him go. Apparently the gun was empty, which after confirmation it was, and this was all a plot to get her her job back. Needless to say, she ended up on the floor next to her 'beloved'.

The whole ordeal had lasted thirty minutes of the one hour prep time before the show. Models having to stop their preparations before rushing through it in the ten minutes after the police nabbed Flo and Bill.

Snapping out of her thoughts about the day, Malika got off the elevator. No sooner had she stepped out than my work phone started ringing. Sighing, she picked up, knowing whatever would be said would push her further into the anxiety attack she felt creeping through her veins.
