Jason's POV:

"Northampton where?" she asks with her eyes fixed on the road. Caught off guard, I responded, "Wait, you don't know either? I thought I was lost!" I said, feeling a bit frustrated.

She stared back at me with determination. "If you want, we can find another ride. I'm fine with moving on," she said firmly.

I was at a loss for words. The silence hung in the air until I mustered the courage to ask her where she was headed.

"Wherever the road takes me."

"Wow, then take me along," In an attempt to lighten the mood, I smiled and patted her shoulder but she quickly pushed my hand away.

After that awkward interaction, I fell silent. I drifted off for a while. When I woke up, it was still dark and we were driving.

"Where are we?" I asked, but she didn't respond.

"Hellooo!" I gently touched her arm, trying to get her attention. She looked at me with a scrunched-up face.

"Sir, you've only been asleep for five minutes. Please take another nap. You're quite disturbing."

"Whoa, that hurt!" I dramatically exclaimed, placing my hand over my chest.

"I'm hungry," I lied, hoping to start a conversation. But she replied flatly, "Uh-oh, got nothing here."

From the moment I first saw her, not even a small upward curve had ever graced her lips. Determined to change that, I thought, "If she doesn't, I might even have to question the fact that she's human."

I threw some cheesy pickup lines at her. Her annoyed look made me realize it was a bad idea. Ah, never mind. I smirked and asked, "Wanna make out?" She hit the brakes.

I thought, "What now?" She brought her face closer and closer. Wait what? It worked?

But I was wrong. "Get out!" she yelled, "Get the hell out...NOW!"
