I heard the door open
I ran down the stairs to see Kayla (My bestfriend, Almost a sophomore like me) stood at the doorway
"Phew" I said to myself in relief
Karma I guess
"Hey girl!" I hear her yell towards me after hugging Kylie
"Hey!" I say walking towards her for a hug
"Let me go wake up my mom" I say after the hug
"She's still sleeping? Damn" she responded
"Hey I would too if Kylie let me" I say walking towards the Stairs again
Kylie and Kayla walk towards the kitchen laughing
I walk in moms room to find her awake on her phone
She looked like she was struggling (like always)
"Hey! Banana Cream? My favorite!" She bursts out at me
"Yeah! Come down while it's warm, want coffee?" I offer
"When don't I?" She asks
"True" I say in defeat
I walk out of her room to let her get ready for the day
"Kylie! Mom wants coffee!" I yell walking down the stairs
As I walk towards the kitchen notice Kayla was crying
"Oh my god, what happened?!" I yell
"N...n..Nathalie...leaving...Cali..." Kayla stutters out
I look at Kylie, she had a crushed look on her face
"Nathalie's moving to California..." Kylie mumbles
Nathalie is Kylie's bestfriend, also in 8th grade
We're all friends
I didn't know how to react
I just stood there with a blank expression
We live so far from California, it's across the country...
