Chapter Five: Do You Love Me?

Jessica's POV

The next morning I stretch and turn over and open my eyes to see a bare chest. I jump back and fall off the bed. "Jess?" Adrian sits up sleepily and looks at me. "What are you doing in here?" I stand up and glare at him. "You were calling my name last night so I laid down and you went back to sleep." I shake my head and grumble walking into the bathroom shutting the door behind me. No way did I ask him to stay with me. I wash my face then see an extra tooth brush so I brushed my teeth.

There's a knock on the door. "Jess don't be mad at me. Let me in please." His voice is low and I can barely hear him. I open the door and walk right past him ignoring him. I hear him sigh behind me as I head for the door.

My stomach growls and I head to the kitchen and find Chase there. "Hey." I smile at him. "Jess are you ok? Do your ribs hurt? I'm so sorry I.." I grab his hands so he looks at me. "No Chase there's no reason to be sorry. Adrian was being stupid not you ok?" He nods and hugs me. "I don't know what I'd do without you Jess. I'm barely hanging on with what happened to Zara. I love her and she... She is a vampire and Philipe is her maker. I'm so lost Jessica." He starts crying as I hug him back taking away his pain and drawing it into me. "Chase it'll be ok remember what I told you I will fix this."

Someone clears their throat at the door way. Chase jumps and sees Zara standing there. "I guess you can't even love me? So I'm a vampire and now you turn your back on me!" Her tears fall but they are red like blood staining her face she grabs me. "It's all your fault! I'm a monster because of you because you couldn't protect me and the others are dead!" She shakes me roughly and her eyes start glowing red.

"Zara calm down. I'm going to fix this." She just growls at me and throws me into the wall. "Your pathetic Jess and you Chase I thought you loved me. Why are you with her? I smelt her in your bed and now this." I see him tremble as she gets closer and I get up. "Zara stop!" I grab her letting my power hit her. She screams in agony and falls to the ground. Philipe runs in snarling and looks at me. "You b*tch I will kill you!!"

He lunges at me and Chase grabs me from behind pulling away as Philipe sinks his fangs into his neck. "NO!" Chase screams in pain and slides to the floor and Jared runs in throwing Philipe. He grabs Chase and takes off. I run after them when Adrian grabs me.

He barricades me to his chest and smells me. "Are you ok my love?" I nod my head as I start to cry. "Shh mio amore. It'll be ok." His voice was amazing and I truly felt it was all going to be ok. Then I heard Zara, "How dare you bite him! You promised me you wouldn't!" "No I said I wouldn't kill him or turn him nothing more. You are kind now get use to it. Now go to our room and wait while I go clean the mess you started!" Zara runs out the kitchen, past us and to his room.

Philipe walks out and to us causing Adrian to tense up. "I'm sorry I acted the way I did just now. I felt her pain and I lost it." He turns and fallows the direction Jared went. "Let's go out?" He brings my face to look at him. "Out?" "Yes like a date Jess." I shrug, "I am hungry." He smiles and leads me up stairs. "Go put the dress on that's hanging up then meet me outside."

I go up to the room and see a red dress. There's no way I'm walking out of her in it. The slut goes up to just below my panties and practically shows my boobs with the low V cut top. Yet it hugs my hour glass figure perfectly. I sigh and let my hair down, which falls in long black curls half way down my back.

After awhile I finally go down stairs where he is pacing the room in a suit. "Adrian?" He stops and looks at me. His eyes don't see anything but me as he walks to meet me. "You look stunning Jessica." I blush and look away. "It's just the dress that makes me like that." He makes me look up at him. "Don't ever push yourself down like that. You are the most beautiful person I have ever laid eyes on."

We arrive at a very nice and let me tell you very expensive restaurant. "Adrian this place as like a year long waiting list to get a table." He laughs and opens my door. "I know some people." I get out and look at him truly surprised.

Chase's POV

The pain was agonizing but Jared told me it would stop. This was it I'm turning into a vampire. I wasn't scared because a couple days ago Jared and I talked about me going to work with him. I actually thought it was a great idea, a fresh start. Then there was Zara but Jared told me that Philipe truly believed she was his other half like Adrian and Jess. It broke my heart because I did love her but there was something inside that didn't.

I started to pass out as Jared sits next to me. "I'm sorry it was this way Chase it'll be over soon." I feel the sun rise and the set. Once it sets I wake up with a pain in my throat. "Jared?" He walks in and hands me a glass of red liquid which I now know is blood. "Drink up it'll ease the pain." I do as he says chugging it down feeling the need for more.

I hear Jessica's laugh and then the smell hits me and I run out the room to her. She is walking down stairs leaving Adrian in the shower. "Chase?" She smiles at me and all I can do is star at her pulse beating in her neck. I run and draw my fangs to sink my teeth in her neck. Jessica's scream fills the house and so does the smell of her blood. "What did you do to her!?" Adrian runs at me as Jared stops him. I look at my best friends body laying on the floor barely breathing.
