On the eve of Naru's fifteenth birthday the siblings were summoned by their uncle.
Two years had passed since the Lynol encounter and after that the three had mostly just been traveling to new lands and running errands.
The three enter the main chamber of the forgotten temple back when it was in the prime of its youth.
There before them stood Mineru, their mother, and Rauru, their uncle. Among them also were champions from each realm that had begun training in service to the king.
At this point in the story the sages were youthful and did not yet have secret stones.
"I suppose you might be wondering why I asked you here." Rauru says with a light smile. "It is time to give you all your grand missions."
Daru rolled his eyes slightly. "It's about time. I've waited long enough."
Faru steps forward. "Are you sure we are ready?"
"Collectively your strength, wisdom, and courage is greater than even my own." Rauru says. "So we decided it was time to finally give you a secret stone and send you out into the world as members of my council. Are you ready for such responsibility?"
"Of course we are Uncle." Daru says. "I've wanted nothing more." He nods full of determination.
"Kneel before me." Rauru says, raising his hand slightly.
He kneels on one knee before his uncle.
Rauru reached out a closed hand and nodded. "Then I hereby grant you the power of the secret stone. You will use its guidance as you protect the Eldin region where the lava sleeps. You will be my post commander of all trades and mines through the area and personally oversee all operations that go on there henceforth."
Daru takes the stone gratefully. "Of course my king. Thank you for this measure of faith." The stone glows red and changes markings and then turns into a waist brace that snaps itself into place upon him. He admires it.
"Faru." Rauru says motioning towards the one year younger child. "Do you accept the responsibility?"
Faru nods and drops to one knee. "Of course my king. I will not fail you. My word is my honor."
The king hands him a secret stone. "Very well. Unto you I now bestow this token of your courage. May your bravery lead the charge onto the Faron lands and those who dwell within it."
"Thank you, my king." Faru bows. The stone he was given glows yellow and changes markings, as it does it becomes a neck brace. He admires it.
The king turns now toward the youngest child. "Naru, as the youngest child I regret putting such a burden on your shoulders, but I hear you are more than capable."
Naru immediately goes down on one knee. "Of course uncle. If my brother's are ready then I am surely ready. I have trained my whole life to join them on your table. Anything less would be a disappointment."
Rauru nods slightly, extending his hand to hand her a secret stone. "The Lanayru lands are yours to protect. The Hylians have made a settlement there and will need some guidance."
Naru takes the secret stone and smiles. "Such beautiful scenery. I shall do all in my power to protect it." The secret stone activates and becomes a bracelet. She admires its beads and colors. "Thank you." She bows slightly and steps back.
Mineru can't help but overflow with joy as she has just witnessed her children being given their secret stones and first missions and lands to watch over. "I'm so glad to see you all so responsible and grown up now." She steps over to them. "Words can not describe the happiness this has brought me."
Just then Sonia appears with their two year old child. "Rauru dearest." She says entering behind the egar hylian child as he runs into the room.
Rauru smiles lightly. "Of course. Come Rangu." He smiles as he picks up his son. "You are not quite old enough for this ceremony."
Mineru chuckles. "Though he looks like his mother he has his fathers spirit."
Sonia laughs softly. "I'm sorry I just couldn't keep him away. You know how he loves to wander."
Later
The three embark from the center castle area and head towards the coast. Each of them has a travel bag, a secret stone and a promise to write letters to their mother. But what they didn't know was the newly formed kingdom of Hyrule was in far greater danger than they could have ever realized.
While the Rito and Zora tribes had been eager to offer their loyalty to the hylians there was one tribe who resisted.
It seemed the Gerudo of the desert had been planning to expand their borders under the rule of their new king Ganondorf. Typically they had already reached an understanding with Hylians but Ganondorf didn't like the way that a new king suddenly appeared and began changing everything. Advancing technology and giving them more power.
He wanted all of that for himself and his people and so he began to devise a way to take all the technology and power for himself.
The three siblings arrived in their new homes and began work immediately to help the villagers there build settlements. At this point in the timeline the lower area was available to travel to by way of elevators built using Zonia devices. (the really light metal frame piece and some small wheels.) back then it was entered through caves and deep going tunnels because the huge chasms didn't exist.
Faru helped the first Faron trades people build the first stable in the Faron woods which because of the way things were at the time was actually on the other side of the woods near the beginning of the path. The Hylians had all set up camp and looked to Faru as a sort of powerful leader type because he had abilities they did not have. On his first night he oversaw the construction of the stable and wrote a letter to his mother.
Naru got to dueling peaks where she found the small group of Hylians she was supposed to watch over. Her abilities and wisdom helped them build a resting point where the Hylains had stopped to rest. This rest area would eventually become a stable where many travelers would stop to rest themselves. The first night she arrived all she did was camp out with the Hylians and listen to their stories.
Daru arrives at the volcano of the Eldin region. His first task would be to help the Goron and Hylains find a way to co-exist. When he first arrived there was a disagreement between the Hylians and the Goron's about the land usage. His first letter to home came that same night as he asked his mother what he should do to stop them bickering.
(the next chapter will be individual selections of the siblings dealing with the issues of being in charge of their lands.)
