She didn't know how much time had passed. The only thing she knew was that it was a decent amount.

And even with how much time had passed, Aoi still felt regret for her decisions so long ago. She learned to get used to the far shore. Although it was extremely different from the near shore it was still a beautiful place. She wanted to escape. She wanted to be here.

But she still missed it. Her old life... her friends... her family... Akane. Aoi squeezed her eyes shut, trying to block out her memories, even though she knew she wouldn't succeed. Then a familiar voice caught her attention.

"Aoi-chan." Aoi glanced back to see (Name) waving at her with a mokke in her arms.

"Ah, (Surname)-chan..." Aoi mumbled, looking down at the mokke.

(Name) followed her gaze and softly smiled. "I remember when Nene-chan first got attacked by the mokke. When they broke apart, she always enjoyed taking care of them. She said they reminded her of her hamster."

Aoi couldn't bring herself to respond.

"Do you regret it?" (Name) asked.

"I wish I could go back sometimes," Aoi said. "But I know we can't... It's not like it's all bad here. I didn't think I'd be admitting it but, I miss how things used to be sometimes. What about you? Do you regret it?"

(Name) hummed to herself. "Of course I do. But when I think about how the near shore likely is now, I feel a little less bad. I'm upset that we're not with her, but I'm glad that Yashiro is living her life now. Though... I'm sorry you weren't able to live yours fully either."

Aoi looked at her, almost in disbelief that she said that. Then she let out a small giggle. "I think we're one in the same, (Surname)-chan. We miss it and regret our decisions but... we still try to see the happier side of things."

"Ah..." (Name) handed the mokke to Aoi. "It has a gift for you."

The mokke innocently looked up at Aoi and gave her a small piece of chocolate in the shape of a shark. She didn't know where it could've gotten it from or how it knew that she enjoyed that specific kind, but the gesture made Aoi feel much more at ease.

"Thanks~" She stuffed the chocolate in her mouth and patted the mokke. "Akane-kun promised that we'd go to a sweet shop... in a way, I'm a little jealous of you (Surname)-chan. The one you love is still here with you."

(Name) paused. "I'm grateful that he is. He's an annoying pervert sometimes, but I'm not sure what I'd do without him. With that being said, I'm off. See you later, Aoi-chan. Are you sure you don't want to join us?"

Aoi simply nodded and waved. "See you later."

As Aoi reminisced on the past, (Name) went back to where Hanako was. It didn't take too long to find him. He was sitting on the ground angrily playing cards with the mokke, complaining about how good they were at cards.

"Have you ever considered that maybe you're just bad at cards?" (Name) asked.

Hanako grinned and held (Name)'s hand, sitting her down next to him. "Why don't you try and beat the mokke? How is that Aoi-chan girl by the way? I feel like it's been a while."

"I think she's gotten used to everything," (Name) said. "Though, her situation makes me glad that you're here with me."

"Oh?" Hanako asked. "Finally beginning to appreciate me?"

(Name) chuckled. "I guess so."

The three of them played cards with the mokke a few times, losing every single game.

"Maybe the mokke are just good..." (Name) muttered in defeat.

"I told you so..." Hanako said.

(Name) picked up one of the mokke and studied it. "Do you ever wonder how things are on the near shore? With Yashiro and Kou-kun...?"
