Later That Night
It's official.
All I have to do is say the magic words, and my parents will make the call to my old school. Then, I'm back. I had already told them yes when they first asked me, but you know how parents can be. I'm just grateful they chose to listen...
After the eleventh hour.
...Let's not let that thought deter everything I've been through today. My full-circle moment, starting at my new school, now my old school, then going to my old school, which is technically my new school and...brain go dead. I'll compartmentalize later.
I'm on summer break, home, free, me time.
How about a Paw Days and chill kind of kickoff?
Booting up my sloth for a desktop, I grab a blanket and huddle up in my chair, staring into the void that is the loading screen. My old school tablet would've loaded by now. That tablet is the only thing I'll miss. Why couldn't we take them home? The model and software will just be outdated by next school year anyway.
I reach my home screen. The class background photo doesn't feel as haunting anymore. They really do like me. Everybody remembered me. They were less interested in my old school and more interested in what I've been up to. I shrugged and smirked, a game of Tag broke out.
"Leo got faster," I say.
Best of all? Nobody changed.
"I'm coming back."
Did I tell my class? I don't remember.
"They're letting me go back."
Gumball is speechless, as he should be. You're in for a treat, friend. There might not be a Mrs. G and "advanced" classes, Kieran, Max, or a crazy Dutch music teacher, but I can't wait to introduce you to all the wonderful kids and quirks that...I love.
I'll talk to Leo about Fight Night, listen to Abbi about her constant crush addiction, roll my eyes with Beth, help everybody with a smile, be their friend...
"What if it won't be the same? Summer can change a kid."
...Virtual Gumball needs his orange.

"This better not be another one of those quick rich schemes you tried signing up for," I tell Gumball. "Last time, you almost..."
Wait. When does anybody message me? I click to see what it's about, and five decades later, I don't recognize the username, but...
"Hey Acorn."
TO BE CONTINUED...?
