Nate turned her head when there was a knock on her door. Lily poked her head out with a grin.

"Lunch?" Lily asked.

In a short time, Nate, Layla, Penny, and Lily were in the kitchenette enjoying their lunch. Mrs Jenny was also there.

Nate chewed her food while musing about Julian. She wasn't even worried when she heard that Keith had gone to accompany Alicia on a client visit. Nate didn't know who she should share her worries about. None of her co-workers knew her husband existed, nor could she tell Annie.

"You know," Penny whispered after Mrs Jenny finished washing her cutlery and came out of the kitchenette. "I heard Keith is getting married."

Nate choked her food against her will. Good for her that Penny only glanced at her briefly.

"I heard that the woman he is going to marry also works in this company." Penny continued.

Nate drank her water and wondered, how this girl could know so much about the people in this company?

"With Alicia?" Lily guessed. "Didn't she say she would get married this year?"

Without realizing it, Nate almost threw a protest at Lily for guessing randomly like that. However, apart from the fact that Nate was still coughing a little, she also didn't want to reveal her own secret. Layla patted Lily's arm.

"Alicia will indeed get married this year, but with her graphic design boyfriend." Layla corrected. "Besides, have you ever seen Keith and Alicia alone together?"

Lily shook her head. "Not even with other women in this company." She clicked her tongue. "You can count the women in this company on your fingers. Sure, almost everyone is single, but we're the only young women here—who was at least close to Keith's age. Who might he marry here?"

"Ms Miranda? It's an open secret that she's head over heels for Keith, right?" Penny snorted with laughter. "Could it be that Keith was just making up his marriage? Or does he actually have a crush with one of us secretly and he wants to know her reaction when she hears about it?"

After much speculation, they finally returned to their rooms. Nate followed Penny into the marketing room because she was going to give her chocolate. After a while, Alicia returned alone, and went to her desk. Mrs Jenny asked about her visit right away.

"I have left brochures and business cards at several places I visited." Alicia replied, making Nate immediately look away. Gosh, that girl just spilled Keith's secret with the other marketers.

"Why were you just left them? If that's the case, you can't call it a visit. You have to meet with the purchasing department or anyone who has authority in procuring," said Mrs Jenny.

"But I got their contact." Alicia said defensively. "I'll contact them later."

Nate returned to her office and pondered at her desk. Maybe what Penny said was true, that Keith wanted to know Nate's reaction. Or did he want to pressure her into making a decision regarding their relationship at once?

Nate sat anxiously. Her heart was still ached every time she remembered what Julian said last night. It felt even more upsetting than when Keith had shouted at her the other day. Nate finally pulled out her smartphone and typed a message for Julian. She wouldn't be able to say it to him in person.

Julian, there's something I want to tell you for a while now.

Nate's finger stopped. She wasn't sure if she could go on.

I've thought about everything that happened between us. I don't think I can go through this marriage with you anymore. Just like you, I no longer feel comfortable with you. I know I'm not the perfect woman for you, I'm not the woman you deserve to fight for. Whatever I do or whatever I say will always be wrong for you. I know this marriage did not live up to your expectations and you're not happy about it. You deserve a better woman. I won't stop you from finding a woman to your liking, one you can cherish for the rest of your life.
