after spending a part of the night crying, another part watching a movie and then sleeping, donghyuck somehow woke up early.

the tan male turned to his side and noticed jaemin was still asleep. not wanting to wake him up, he slowly and very quietly got off the bed.

he slid on his sandals that were on the floor and left the room, closing the door quietly so jaemin wouldn't wake up.

he loved the younger but in all honesty, he didn't sleep good at all. knowing that he hadn't talked to mark in a while and not being able to feel his arms around him, didn't let him sleep well.

he needed his boyfriend and his attention.

currently, donghyuck was downstairs. he decided to make himself coffee since he was the only one awake. to be fair, it was pretty early.

6:28 am.

due to having no curtains in the downstairs windows, donghyuck could easily see the sun was barely making it's way up.

he heaved out a sigh. as much as it was relaxing to be alone in this quiet environment, he hated how early he woke up.

he blames it on the school. after months of waking up at around this time, his head seemed to memorize the time and now it wakes him up on his own.

finally, when he had finished the coffee, he settled it down in the sink and began washing it.

being alone like this really made him think..

is mark really cheating on me?

am i not good enough that mark had to leave during night time to go with someone else?

is this why he has been very quiet and mysterious lately?

how long has this been going on?

"i'm not cheating on you."

donghyuck jumped at the sudden appearance. the voice was familiar, one that feels like he hasn't heard in years but actually only been hours.

the brunette turned off the water and turned around, now facing his boyfriend. his face, instead of showing relief, showed confusion.

how did mark know i was thinking that?

did i say it out loud on accident?

he noticed mark widen his eyes on accident but immediately changed his back to how it was, serious.

maybe i'm too obvious..

gaining sudden confidence, donghyuck spoke up.

"then what are you doing, mark? why do i feel like you've been distant lately? how come you came in late last time? where do you go if not cheat on me?" all these questions shot out of donghyuck's mouth. he couldn't help but ask everything that's been running through his brain.

"look donghyuck, i can't tell you what i'm doing because it's private but i guarantee you that i'm most definitely not cheating on you. i love you so much baby, i could never bring myself to even think about finding a person-that's not you-attractive. i'm sorry if i've been distant lately, something going on at home and i didn't want to worry you so i didn't tell you but i promise you, i'm not cheating on you."

not being able to stop them anymore, donghyuck let go the tears he had been holding back for the past minute.

"baby, come here." mark opened his arms, hinting to his boyfriend to come hug him. "i'm sorry~" donghyuck whined and ran to mark's arms, hugging him very tightly.

"it's okay." the taller male chuckled slightly and rubbed the younger's back. "no mark, it's not! i just accused you of cheating on me. you shouldn't forgive me that easily." the boy reasoned, his cries and voice somewhat muffled by mark's hoodie.

"don't worry baby."

mark pulled donghyuck off of his chest and took his hand. like that, the dark haired lead the brunette to the couch.

mark sat down first, donghyuck following by sitting on his lap, getting comfortable, sitting sideways with his arms around mark's shoulders and neck, his head leaning on mark's. "h-how did you know i thought you were cheating though?" a thought that had been running through donghyuck's mind.

"um.. you and jaemin were being a bit loud yesterday." mark hesitated again. donghyuck noticed this but like last time, chose to ignore it.

"oh my god! i hope no one else heard. i'm sorry." the brunette pouted. "it's okay, stop apologizing you had every right to think how you did especially with how i've been acting. now, let's put this behind us?" mark suggested, tapping donghyuck's thighs in a playful manner, expressing how he wasn't mad at all.

"okay."

since the rest of the house was still asleep, the couple decided to go outside and watch the sun rise.

hand in hand, the two lovers walked until they reached the ocean. since this was a vacation home, donghyuck's parents thought it was smart to build the home by a place to swim.

donghyuck and mark sat down on the sand, not even caring if they got dirty from it. the older was sitting up with his hand around his boyfriend's waist while the younger sat sloppily, his head and arms on mark's shoulders.

it was all peaceful. from the sound of the waves, to the sound of their breaths, some laughs and the view.

this is just how donghyuck wanted to spend his summer. with his boyfriend.

but this was all too good to be true.

but when will donghyuck realize it?
