Chapter 11
Pain.
That's all Ginny felt. Pain.Pain from her head, from her arms, from her legs... Pain, pain, and more pain.
Why did everything have to hurt?
But something that would make the pain less...
Harry.
Harry makes the pain less.
Harry.
Ginny can't stop thinking about Harry now, now that she knows he can make the pain less.
"Har... Harry..." Ginny mumbles, blindly reaching out for him.
Her eyes slowly open and the fist thing she thinks is I know this roof.
I know this roof. It's... It's the roof of the hospital wing...
It's the roof to the fucking hospital wing!
Ginny's back at the damn school...
She bolts up, her eyes wide. "Harry!"
The quick action makes her head spin, and she's groaning as people run over to her.
"Harry... Harry..." Ginny's moans are mixed in with her groans.
Someone puts a hand on her back and sits down on the edge of her bed, his voice oddly familiar. "Shh, Ginny... It's okay. It's okay. I'm here."
She slowly lifts up her head and wipes away her tears from who knows when, her voice quieter than a whisper when she speaks. "Harry...?"
He nods and smiles at her, sending relief through her body.
"I... I thought I lost you." Ginny whispers, her voice shaking. "When... When I saw the roof, I--"
"I know, I know... I thought the same... But we're here. Together. We're both safe... Ish."
"What do you mean 'safeish'?"
Harry sighs, running his free hand through his hair. "You don't remember?"
Ginny slowly shaking her head, reaching for his free hand.
He lets her take it. "I guess you hit your head pretty hard..."
"W-what... W-what happened?"
Harry sighs, "You wouldn't let go. I would let go. Someone else wanted us to let go..." He shrugs, "I remember screaming, crawling over to you, and flying back here on a broom... Then the roof and worry that... That you were gone."
Now it's Ginny's turn to be the calming one. Seeing Harry cry... It's breaking her heart.
"Harry, love, it's okay... I'm here. I'm not gone." Ginny pulls Harry in and hugs his tight, feeling his tears soak her hair in seconds.
After a few minutes, he calms down and keeps Ginny close, just enjoying the feeling of being safe.
"Did... Did you call me 'love'?"
"Oh shut up, Harry."
He laughs, sending the butterflies in her stomach crazy.
Even after they've made out and slept together, he can still put butterflies in her stomach.
Ginny looks up when she hears sniffling. Loud sniffling.
"G-Ginny..." The sniffling person gets out, then runs over to tackle her in a hug.
"Mom!" Ginny yelps when she gets pushed back onto the bed, her mom's grip on her tight enough to give Ginny bruises.
"Molly, that's enough. She just woke up, and now you've tackled her to the bed."
