-Chapter 14-

-Addison's POV-

At the house, Tessa and I are sitting on the couch about to discuss the deal from the label. 

Tessa- so what happened Addi? You seemed like you wanted to get out of there.

I was confused by her statement.

Addison- no I wasn't? Nothing bad happened just overwhelmed, I guess.

Tessa- well what was said?

Addison- it's a lot so if I do agree with this label, they'll take a certain percentage of profits from the sales of my music like for instance, Paul said that I can have 15 to 50 percent depending of the sales that's if I accomplish anything if not, I won't make nothing out of it. 

Tessa- oof, is it true that artist have control over their career?

She asked and I nodded 

Addison- oh yeah but not like control on who you date or who's in your social circle, they have amense amount of control when it comes to their career like their songs, the album, how much money they make off of you. Most labels are money hungry in my opinion. Jordan and the boys might agree.

Tessa- I mean I agree with you 100%, I don't think Madonna would set you up with a bad reputable label especially she's in it. She's pretty successful and has good connections. 

I nodded 

Addison- yeah and also they do have a bit of control of your songs, like writing wise, I'm not too sure, they have control over your imagery and how you I guess represent yourself. 

Tessa- I mean that makes sense, most celebrities do have an image, but that's something you shouldn't care about because I think you have a great sense of style. 

I smiled 

Addison- thanks Tess

The phone rings and I went up to go answer it. 

Addison- hello?

Jordan- hi baby girl 

I smiled from hearing Jordan's sweet voice

Addison- hi handsome, how are you?

Jordan- I'm doing good now that I'm talking to you, how are you love?

Addison- I'm good as well, so listen can you and the boys help me out with something?

Jordan- of course, what's up?

Addison- soo Madonna was at our class today because Miss Collins wasn't feeling well so she took over for today and we got to talking and I spoke to her about potentially having a singing career. She said she can hook me up with her manager and producer named Paul and he gave me a contract with mutual agreements and such.

Jordan- okay so I had you on speaker phone on the telephone here, can you tell us what it says?

Addison- uh yeah

I motioned Tess to bring the papers and she brought it over to me and I took a look. 

Donnie- before you start, did you have a lawyer present?

Addison- of course Don, I wouldn't be with him by myself because I don't know what I'm signing up for.

Donnie- smart girl 

I chuckled at his comment. 

Addison- okay so it says here, so mind you there's 3, one is management, the label contract and other additional agreements.

Jordan- okay baby

Addison- so to sum it up because it's a lot to read but based from Paul told me is that there's a term length so since I'm a beginner I can go for shorter term for a year to three years.
