Esme's POV

George and my relationship is still going strong. Easter has come and gone. Along with our exams. I believe I passed everything, but won't know until the end of the year. I got a huge Easter egg from Mrs Weasley. But I noticed Hermione got a tiny one and decided to share mine with her. As there was no way I'd eat all of mine on my own.

Anyway, it's the day of the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament. Which is a maze. The champions have to face multiple challenges while trying to find the center. Where the cup is. The first to touch it, wins. Hermione, Ron and I helped Harry a lot with his preparation for it. Professor McGonagall even let us use an empty class room to practice spells in.

Zeze and Axel had their chicks. They hatched yesterday. Five eggs were laid, but only three hatched. I hope they all make it. They'll be ready to fly in four weeks. Then stay close to Zeze and Axel until they are two. Then be forced to leave and find their own territory and mates. George and I are heading to the great hall after paying them a visit.

"They look weird" he states.

"They only hatched yesterday" I remind him.

"I know, but still it's weird seeing a bird without feathers" he states.

"They'll grow out soon" I assure him. "Excited for the final task?" I ask him.

"Yep, Fred and I have been taking bets on who will win" he tells me. " Speaking of, do you have any bets on the out come of the final task?" George asks.

"Nope, I don't beat. Remember" I remind him.

"Ok, but who would you bet on if you did?" he asks as we enter the great hall.

"Harry and Cedric tying" I state.

"George!" someone shouts and we look up. Freezing to see his mum and oldest brother Bill at the gryffindor table. What are they doing here?

"Mum, what a surprise" George says. "What are you doing here?" he asks as we join his family, Harry and Hermione.

"Come to watch Harry in the last task!" she says brightly. "And to meet your girlfriend" she adds looking at me.

"A pleasure Mrs Weasley" I say. "How are things at the Burrow?" I ask.

"They are good, can we talk later?" she asks.

"Sure" I say. "So Ginny, how was your exam?" I ask.

"It was good, how was yours?" she asks.

"Boring, history is so dale. I'll be glad to quit it after next year" I tell her and she chuckles.

"What subjects will you continue after next year?" she asks.

"No idea yet, I am considering taking a healing course after school. Whether or not I become one though, I have not yet decided" I tell her.

"I don't know what career I want either" Hermione adds.

"I'm sure you girls can do anything you want, with your brains" George states. I smile and peak his cheek. The rest of the afternoon was pretty dale. I had a chat with Mrs Weasley and she has no idea what I see in George. But I don't care what she thinks, I like George a lot and may even be falling in love with him. Though I don't know if his feelings are that strong.

Anyway, we all sit down as the final task is about to begin. "Ladies and gentlemen, the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin! Let me remind you how the points currently stand! Tied in first place, with eighty-five points each - Mr. Cedric Diggory and Mr. Harry Potter, both of Hogwarts School! In second place, with eighty points - Mr. Viktor Krum, of Durmstrang Institute! And in third place - Miss Fleur Delacour, of Beauxbatons Academy!" Bagman explains.

"If the champions run into something they can not handle, they'll shot red sparks into the air. Green once they find and touch the cup" he adds. "So. . . on my whistle, Harry and Cedric!" he says. He counts to three and blows the whistle. Harry and Cedric hurried forward into the maze. Soon Fleur and Viktor enter, & we can only wait for sparks.

(Time skip)

"This is boring!" Ron whines.

"You think we weren't bored while you were in the lake?" Fred asks him.

"Besides it's only been fifteen minutes since Fleur entered" George adds.

"How about you guys play exploding snap?" I suggest.

"I have a deck" Lee adds. The four of them set up a game. While I go back to my book, Hermione is reading one also. Ginny is catching up with Bill and their mum. When screams are heard and red sparks appear in the sky. Several people fly to the location on broomsticks and soon appear with an unconscious Fleur.

"Do you think she's alright?" Hermione asks.

"Who cares, less competition for Harry" George states and I whack the back of his head. "Sorry darling" he says sheepishly. He gets back to his game as Fleur is taken to the medical tent to be tended to by Madame Pomfrey. Not ten minutes later Viktor Krum is brought out. Also unconscious. "Looks like you maybe right" he tells me.

"I usually am" I say with a smug smile. "Shouldn't be long now" I state. But no sparks appeared at all in the next half an hour. Surely it shouldn't take this long to get through the maze. Suddenly out of nowhere Harry and Cedric appear on the ground in front of the maze with the Triwizard cup.
