It was time for lunch now.Thank God. Back at my old school, some of my friends from Brooklyn and I would totally get down and break dance on the cafeteria tables. Others would join us and before you know it, the cafeteria turned into a dance mob. Now that I'm thinking about it, I really missed back home. There's so much I've left back there, my bestfriend,Chelsea, my boyfriend, Josh, and all the other crazy freaks I called my friends.
I felt something tickle my cheek and I reached up and felt tears.Shit now your crying.
I quickly wiped them away and descended the stairs. I looked towards my locker and saw Madison standing by it. Madison was the first and only friend I'd made since I came to L.A.. I met her when her mom and her came to our house to welcome us to the neighborhood. We became instant friends when I found out how energetic and fun she was. We both loved music, watching TV and any food that can be delivered at our doorsteps.
Her face lit up when she saw me and she ran into me giving me a tight squeeze.
"I...can't...breathe," I struggled to get out.
"Oh sorry, I'm just so excited to see you," she said releasing me from her tight embrace," So how is your day going so far?"
"Good, I guess. The kids are really friendly especially some of the guys," I replied, not feeling half as excited as she was.
"Yeah like?"
"Like Chase and this other guy. I don't know his name but he's a jock with dark low-cut hair. Know him?"
"You must be talking about Scott. Oh yeah, he's a real charmer alright." She chuckled and I faked a smile. She looked at me with concern now sensing something was wrong.
"What's wrong, babe?"
"Nothing, just a little homesick."
"Aw, does someone need a hug," she pouted, batting her eyes with arms wide open. I smiled at her demeanor, giving her a warm hug.
That's what I loved about her. I'd only known her for a couple days, and yet, she knew how to cheer me up.She pulled away with a giggle, "Let's get some food, I'm starving."
I didn't like buying food from the cafeteria because it always tasted gross, new school or not. So I retrieved my food from my locker. We went to the cafeteria and I stood by Madison in the lunch line. When she got her lunch we went over to an empty table to sit.
"There's a couple people I'd like you to meet. They'll be here any minute now." Maddy said. I nodded and took a bite of my chicken sandwich.
I then felt eyes on me and looked up to find Chase staring at me from a table across the cafeteria. My stomach did a somersault as I met his gaze and for some strange reason I couldn't look away. He had this secretive smile on his face, as if he was enjoying some secret joke or something. Suddenly, Allison came and sat on his lap and kissed him deeply. I quickly looked away as I felt a slight ache in my chest. I've only felt that once before, and that was when Josh hugged other girls.
Oh c'mon Chloe, you can't be jealous. You don't even know the dude. Plus he seems like the type that's totally full of himself and only uses girls then dumps them.
