I went to my locker to get my books and also to see if Madison was there, but unfortunately she wasn't. I wondered where she could've been since she told me she'd meet me here. I stood there picking out my books and I heard someone whisper in my ear," Hey beautiful. "

I didn't need to turn around to know who it was. I'd already guessed from how my whole body went into a frenzy. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end and my heart did flips in my chest. Not to mention the somersaults in my stomach. But I kept a nonchalant demeanor and glanced sideways at Chase. Looking hot as ever, I noticed he was wearing a jock's jacket.

"Hey," I said turning back to my locker. "You should return that."

"What?" He furrowed his brows.

"The jacket," I said simply, closing the locker to face him.

He was so close. Shit, now I'm hyperventilating. Kept your cool Chloe.

"Why would I return something that's mine?" He asked confused.

I looked at him, half surprised and half amused."You're on the football team?"

He looked offended at first but then he smirked. "Why so surprised? Am I not cut out for it?" He asked taking a step closer.
I tried to take a step back but I was already against the locker. Him being so close made me nervous and those mesmerizing eyes left me spellbound and suddenly I couldn't think straight.

OK, what the fuck is happening to me!

It was so obvious that he was cut out for it -football I mean- and if you asked me, he was more than overqualified. He knew that I knew that. Proof was in the cocky smile he wore right now.

"Y-y-yes," I stuttered stupidly, "it's just that-"

"Chloe?" I heard a voice say cutting me off. It was Madison. I wanted to kiss her at that moment. She had such amazing timing.

"I guess I'll see you later." He whispered huskily in my ear, sending shivers through my body. I hope I don't. I said mentally as he strided down the hallway towards Maddy.

"Hey Tanner," he greeted as he walked pass Maddy.

"Bye Summers," Maddy sneered in return. Something was clearly going on between them. I could feel the tension in the air from a mile away.

She came up to me giving me a penetrating glare. You know the one you get from your parents when they suspect you did something wrong and they want to squeeze the truth outta you? Yeah, that one.

"OK, you need to stop doing that. You're starting to freak me out." I said.

"What is going on between you two?" She interrogated, keeping her glare.

"Nothing," I said a little too quickly. She still kept the look. I was starting to feel like I was in a trial. "Nothing, I swear."

"Good, 'cause he's bad news. Trust me, I would know." She said with a glint of pain in her eyes.

What's that supposed to mean. Did he hurt her at some point?
"What do you mean?" I asked echoing my thoughts.

She straightened up with a forced smile,"C'mon let's get to class."

She grabbed my hand dragged me off to class. Now I was really curious to know what happened between them. But I guess she didn't want to talk about it, so I let it slide, for the time being.
