Amelia knew how things were getting serious with Cain. They had been away for the weekend in which Amelia had lied and said she was staying with someone from school.

She knew that she had fallen hard for him. And she was worried that if Kim found out, she would do all she could to ruin it.

Cain was the one who had changed her life. He made it bearable. And she wouldn't cope if she didn't have him.

Things at home farm had been weird. Kim was always disappearing. Grace had been going out a lot. And she didn't even know where Jamie was.

Things with her family had changed. She didn't know how to cope with it all. Things were hard and she knew that.

All she knew was that she didn't know how to feel. And she felt like everything was getting too much. She just wanted things to be simple.

Morning came all too soon for her. She rolled her eyes as she heard Grace's bed hitting off the wall.

She hoped that her sister wasn't with Graham. She knew how the man had a thing for using her. And she didn't want her to be the one who ended up getting hurt.

She climbed out of bed and sighed. She walked down into the kitchen. Kim was there. "Oh. Good morning. Your birthday next week. Are you excited?" She asked.

Amelia shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe. I'm just getting old."

"You're not."

Amelia sat down. She looked to her. "Who's Grace with? Her bed is going ten to the dozen up there," she said.

Kim shrugged. "My best bet is Graham. He's been lurking around her again. Are you seeing anyone?" She asked.

Amelia's eyes widened. She shook her head. "Not at all. I'm too young for that," she lied.

She didn't know where Kim had gotten the idea from. She had the feeling it was Graham. "Who would I possibly be sleeping with or seeing round here? Everyone is old."

Kim laughed and nodded. "You're right there. You know you can talk to me about anything. I won't ever judge you," she told her.

"I know. Anyways. Are you seeing anyone? You're the one who's always running off."

Kim rolled her eyes as she looked to her. "That's my business. Maybe I am seeing someone. Maybe I'm not."

Amelia smiled. Knowing how she wanted her mum to be happy. Despite how things had been in the past.

Amelia was walking through the village. She smiled as she saw Cain. He motioned for her to go over to him.

Amelia walked over. She smiled. "Hey. Is everything okay?" She asked.

Cain nodded. "I want to treat you for your birthday. So is there anything you want?"

"You."

Cain laughed and kissed her. He smirked. "Apart from me."

Amelia shook her head. She smiled. "Not really. I have you. And I have my dysfunctional family. I'm happy. Just promise me that when things get tough, you won't leave me?"

"I promise."

The two of them kissed. Amelia smiled. Knowing how she was going to do all she could to make it work.

Amelia got back home. She saw Kim there with a glare. Amelia frowned. "What's happened?"

"You lied to me Amelia."

"Huh?"

Kim glared at her. "I've seen you. With the grease monkey. You are to stop seeing him immediately. Or i will send you away," she told her.

Amelia frowned. But how was she meant to stop seeing Cain when he was the one good thing in her life?
