‌‌ 1.

The first time little Ray saw the gentle giant, it was during the last days of her 11th grade. She saw him in front of the Physics faculty of her school.
She was quite in a rush and running fast as she wasn’t looking forward to being told off by teacher for her tardiness. Again.

So, she was in a rush, running fast, and failed to notice. Little Ray failed to notice the gentle giant who stood at an impressive height of 6'5". Ray almost bumped into him. But somehow managed to avoid the collison. Still running, Ray looked back to apologise. And there he was, the gentle giant, looking quite flabbergasted.

Ray wanted to apologise.  But for some reason, looking at his face, she couldn’t.

2.

The next time Ray saw the giant, it was in one of her friend's class. She decided to skip her history class and join her friend Luna in her classes.
The teacher, of course noticed the new addition.
Ray was lucky that Mr.Hayens was quite lenitent. He just let her sit in the class with a little bit of scolding. As if that would ever shake little ray.

As her gaze sweeped off the students,  Ray noticed the boy. The very boy she wad referring to as gentle giant in her mind,  sitting on    the first bench.
Rayne Carols,  with her dark haur and dark eyes, kept looking at the boy. ‌She knew it was quite rude to call him gentle giant when she didnt even know how the boy actually was.
Rayne Carols, known for her eccentricity and unhesitating nature, decided she is going to ask the boy for his name.

Ray wanted to go and ask him for his name right there and then. But for some reason, she couldn’t.

Next time Ray saw the guy, she wasn’t expecting him at all.

You see, Ray is on her way to becoming a senior.   She knew the guy was in the same grade as her. But no matter  how much she  not-so-subconciously looked for the guy, she couldn’t really find him anywhere.
Cut to the last month of her 11th grade, Ray was spending lunch time in another of her friends class. She was laughing when her eyes moved to the back of the class.

And there he was. The gentle giant- no, the guy. There stood the guy who seemingly hadn’t noticed Ray yet. Thankfully.

Ray took a moment to really look at him. Dang. He was cute. He had this dark brown hair, deep dark eyes and a quite nice smile. Scratch that, Ray thought his smile was kinda breathtaking. Also, He kinda turned red when he laughed. It was cute.
As if feeling Ray's eyes on him, the boy looked up suddenly.  Eyes met eyes. Blushed. Looked away. This was a first for Ray. She wasn’t known for being shy. She especially did not shy away from eye contacts either!
After that day, Ray made it a habit to visit her friend's class at breaktime. But so did the boy. And if everytime Ray's eyes moved to the back of the class, looking for-one specific boy, it was nobody's business to know. At that time, Ray couldn't fully understand why she kept looking for him. Even if she wanted to ask herself that question, she didn’t.
Ray thought with relief, with the school year coming to an end, she wouldn’t have to worry about  such conflicting feelings anymore.

Little did she know.
