Into the past

Chapter 18

RECAP:

Kol and Henrick have left for Denver to get close to Jeremy. On their way there, Henrick informed Kol of Hope, her brothers, and their friend's identities. Freya is suspicious of Hope having her own and Daliha's spells. Finn and Sage are in the honeymoon glist in each other's company. Klaus's love and overprotectiveness over Hope isn't terrifying him. Ryan Clarke has finally unpacked and plans to protect Hope and figure out his feelings towards her. Something he must hide from Klaus for his own safety. Elijah was held up in his office analyzing the book for 2 days requesting not to be interrupted.

In New York City, Henry and Josie journing back and forth from helping half the group in Europe and Hope and Ryan in Mystic Falls. They have also taken it upon themselves to check in on everyone cloaked without either group's knowledge to ensure everything is on plan and to see the families they missed.

Back in Mystic Falls, Damon plans on speeding Elena to Jeremy as fast as he can as he overhears Rebekah that Kol and Henrick are on their way to Jeremy to find out who turned Rose and to keep that information out of their hands so they wouldn't be able to kill the other originals they aren't sired to. Stefan agreed to stay at the boarding house alone with unstable Alaric to guard him and the house.

Unaware to all, Bonnie has been possessed by Esther and has left the last remaining white oak ashes in the tunnel no werewolf or vampire can enter.

AT THE SALVATORE BOARDING HOUSE

NEXT DAY:

Elena: walks down the stairs into the basement with a bag. approaches the door to one of the cells and peers through the barred door window.  Alaric?

Alaric: Yep. Still me.

Elena: unlocks the door and enters the cell.

Alaric: is sitting on a cot in the room. You know, you shouldn't be in here. It defeats the point of the whole being locked in a cellar thing.

Elena: drops the bag on the ground. Well, you still need the basics. Toothbrush, clothes, some boring books to help you sleep.

Alaric: picks up one of the books and hands it to Elena. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

Elena: What? No, I grabbed....Damon. Drops the book on the floor. Thinks he's hilarious.

Alaric:  At least one of us still has a sense of humor.

Elena: Are you sure that you...? I mean you don't have to be kept in here.

Alaric:  Ah, no, this is...this is the right place for me to be.

Elena : pulls up a chair and sits down in it. Listen, Stefan is gonna watch over you for a little while. Now that Klaus knows where Jeremy is, it's not safe so, Damon and I are gonna go to Denver to pick him up. 

Alaric:  Why do you say that like you're waiting for me to disapprove?

Elena : I don't know. Me and Damon. Traveling across the country.  speeding there in seconds is more accurate. 

Alaric: I guess I'm more curious to hear what Stefan has to say about it.   

Elena : it was his idea. He thinks that I have some unresolved feelings for Damon.

Alaric: Do you?  

Elena: I guess that's why I'm going on this trip. So I can figure it out.
