Chloe knew how she was struggling with having yet another miscarriage. Things were hard and she felt as though she wasn't meant to have another child.
She had Isla. And she loved her little girl. But she wanted to give Isla a sibling. Someone to play with. But it didn't seem possible.
She felt as though the universe was against her. She was trying to maintain a smile as she didn't want Isla to know that there was something wrong.
Simon had been her rock. He had been doing so much for her. He had done all he could to help her. And be there for her.
Chloe knew how Grace had been having Isla for her. She was thankful. She knew that losing a baby was hard and she wanted to know that there was going to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
All she knew was that things were hard for her. And she was scared that it was going only going to get a lot worse.
Morning came and she woke next to Simon. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close. "Good morning," he said as he kissed her.
"Hey. Sleep okay?" Chloe asked as she cuddled into him. She sighed. "I would have been 12 weeks today."
"I know babe. We will have another baby. I think we need to see a doctor. Before we try again. Then we can find out what's going wrong," he said.
Chloe sighed. She nodded. "I think it's me that's the problem. I'm okay getting pregnant. It's just staying pregnant that's the issue."
Simon smiled. "It will be okay. I promise. If it comes to it, we can have a surrogate," he said.
Chloe shook her head. "I don't want someone else to carry our baby. I want to do it," she told him.
Simon held her close and sighed. He could see how much she was struggling with all that had happened.
He wanted her to be able to have their baby too. But he knew they would need to speak to someone to find out what happened. "It will be okay. I promise," he said.

Chloe went into work. She saw Grace who smiled. "Hey. Isla was amazing. She's in the crèche now having fun," she told her.Chloe nodded and sighed. "I'm ever so grateful to you having her. It means a lot. I'm really struggling with all that's happened. And I don't want her around it."
Grace smiled. "It's okay. I'm happy to help. You're my best friend and you mean a lot. So if I can help at anytime, just let me know," she said.
"Thanks."

Chloe was sitting in her classroom. Everything was getting too much for her. She felt as though it was all about to explode. The door opened and Simon walked in. He sighed. "Hey. I've managed to get us an appointment with a specialist doctor. We can get some answers," he said.
Chloe shrugged. She looked to him. "Maybe I'm not mean to be pregnant. All of this keeps getting messed up," she told him.
Simon pulled her close and sighed. He had no idea how things were about to become a whole lot more complicated for him and Chloe.
