The blonde hummed to the song playing on the TV as he prepared the popcorns.
The boy looked towards the living room where his best friend was sitting on the couch hugging the pillow as he waited for Taehyung to come back. Taehyung smiled to himself transferring the popcorns into a bowl and walking towards his best friend.
It was Sunday. Though the blonde spend most of his week alone in his apartment, he often invite Yeonjun over weekends. They would have a sleepover, go out for a movie sometimes and do the groceries together for Taehyung. Sometimes, they would just complete their assignments whose deadlines must be approaching.
It was evening already. The vast canvas of the sky which once bathed with brightness and a blend of colours was now turning grey. The stars have started coming out of their hiding only to play hide and seek with each other. The moon shown brightly like some distant light in the far sky while the birds rested in their small cocoon of comfort and warmth.
The aroma of freshly popped popcorns mingled with the air as the blonde walked onto the couch to sit beside his best friend who looked at Taehyung and the popcorns with bright eyes.
''Yes! This is what was needed to make this movie night perfect.'' Yeonjun chimed excitedly taking the bowl from his best friend's hands who chuckled and turned to look at the TV.
''What are we watching today?'' He asked equally excited.
''Anything except romance.'' The black-haired boy chimed only to chuckle later when the blonde glared at him playfully.
''Will you leave me alone for once, Mr. Choi Yeonjun?'' He asked looking at the other narrowly.
''Will you leave that genre alone for once, Mr. Kim Taehyung?''
''Oh Yun.... I wish you knew what that genre can make a person feel. Romance is not cringe.... it is the only genre which is true and real. The rest, be it sci-fi, thriller, comedy.... all of them are just imaginations. There is nothing true about sci-fi movies and you know that well. Not every person have lived a thriller and comedy... well.... let's not talk about it because more than half of the human population is searching for a reason to smile.... let alone laugh but romance is something everyone is aware of...'' He smiled picking up a popcorn and plopping it into his mouth while Yeonjun looked at his best friend in amusement.
''How? I don't know what that genre can feel like. It never made me feel anything.''
''Having a secret crush.... or a slight brush of fingers with a person who looks at you unblinking....or a wife waiting for her husband on their first wedding night. A proposal from someone you never expected or a dream of a partner you want... what is all of it?'' He asked the other who kept looking at Taehyung without saying anything.
''.... Love can find its way into anyone's life in unexpected ways.... it doesn't differentiate between genders, races or rich and poor.... Love is Love... it just happens in ways nobody can expect.'' The blonde replied staring at the TV screen before turning towards his best friend with a bright smile.
