Hiccup: As soon as he let you in his house, you knew that something was wrong. His face didn't light up like it usually did, and he just looked so depressed.

You both sat down on the couch and as you looked into Hiccup's eyes, you saw that among the forest green pools, his eyes were very puffy and red. Had he been crying?

"Hiccup? Are you alright? What's going on?" You reached out for his hand, only for him to rebuff that gesture and pull away from you gently, hurting you.

"Is it . . . is it me?" you whispered. Hiccup took one look at you and then just broke down, covering his face with his hands as he cried. You instantly scooted over and comforted him.

"Hiccup? Hiccup, please speak to me," you pleaded, desperate to help your boyfriend. Slowly, Hiccup looked up and then sighed heavily. He sniffed, wiped his nose and then spoke.

"There's . . . there's no easy way to say this . . ." Hiccup murmured before tailing off. You were no genius, but you had a good idea of what he was going to tell you. Your own eyes started to water at that.

"Wait . . ." you began shakily, ". . . a-are you about to say what I think you're about to say . . . ?"

Hiccup finally got the courage to look at you, and by the look in his bloodshot eyes, you knew he wasn't lying.

"I'm so sorry . . ." he murmured.

That was it for you. Tears spurted down your and his faces like Niagara Falls. There was a heart-in-throat silence as you and Hiccup just looked down to the ground and said nothing.

Then Hiccup sniffed once more and got up the courage to speak. "I'm supposed to marry you . . ."

You looked up at him. More tears fell from his eyes as he continued.

"We were supposed to be forever . . ." He finally looked up and met your eyes, ". . . but, (y/n) . . . I can't be with you anymore."

You slowly cast your eyes back to the ground again as Hiccup did too. Neither had the both of you experienced something as heartbreaking as this before, so neither of you knew how to act apart from cry.

"Don't you have anything to say?" Hiccup asked, his voice hoarse from crying.

". . . No." You looked up into his eyes and gave the most heartbreaking smile. ". . . It's okay."

Hiccup squeezed his eyes shut before getting up and walking out the house, leaving you still with the broken smile on your face, which was slowly starting to fade as tears started to come out again.

You had lost him. You first love, first kiss, first boyfriend.

He was your everything . . . and now he was gone.

Jack: "Um, (y/n), there's something I have to tell you," Jack murmured one day, pulling away from your cuddling.

"Um, okay." You noticed that he wasn't his happy cheerful self, but you shrugged it off for now. "What's up?"

"I don't have any way to hide this, so I'm just gonna come right out with it." The way Jack phrased made you a bit worried. Was something horrible happening? About to happen? You didn't know and were anxious to find out.

". . . We need to break up." That one sentence threw you off course completely.

". . . Wh-what?!" You exclaimed, tears pooling in your eyes. Jack's eyes were insanely sparkly as well.

"I just really can't lie to myself anymore." Tears dripped down his face as he continued to speak, "You're getting older and I'm not. I just don't wanna hurt you. That's why I'm breaking up with you."

You broke down. There and then. Tear spilled out of your eyes and didn't seem to stop.

"(y/n)? (y/n), please say something!" Jack pleaded, you looked up at him, your normally bright (e/c) eyes red and puffy.

"How could . . . how could you?" You managed to get out. "How could you give up on me? On us?!"

"You think I want to?! You think I don't feel the same amount of pain that you do?!" Jack said back, crying heavily as well.

"Jack, you said we could make it." The sadness was gone now, and was now solely replaced with anger. "You promised. YOU PROMISED!"

"AND NOW I HAVE TO BREAK THAT PROMISE!" Jack countered with just as much anger. Your eyes widened as soon as those words left his mouth. Jack slowly backed away from you, making you walk a few steps closer.

"I am so, so sorry, (y/n) . . ." Jack turned away, unable to look at you, ". . . but it's over."

"No . . . no, Jack please don't say tha—" You reach for his hand, only for him to whip around and rebuff your gesture.

"(Y/N), IT'S OVER!!" He yelled defiantly; you stared at him in shock. How could he just say that with any care at all? Your expression became emotionless, which was tricky since tears were still spurting from your eyes. You slowly turned around and started to walk out of Jack's room. Jack realized what he had just done quickly chased after you.

"No, wait, (y/n), I'm sorry, I didn't mea—" Jack went to grab your hand, but felt nothing.

Wait.

He felt nothing.

He tried again, but to his horror, saw his hand go right through yours. He backed away and collapsed to the floor, his body wracking with sobs.

"She . . . she doesn't believe . . . she doesn't believe in me anymore . . ." He whispered, tears coming out like a waterfall.

If somebody would kill him now, he wouldn't even care.

Even a thousand nightmares would be better than you not believing in him anymore.

You were his light, his glimmer of sunshine.

And now you were gone.

You were gone forever.
