Kirishima and (Y/N) found their way to the hall where the rest of the middle school students had gathered they both nodded to each other. Kirishima went to join Ashido and (Y/N) went to a seat one row up across the aisle.
Ashido watches them both come in. Squinting as intensely as she could. All it does is make it look like she ate some really sour candy. Kirishima was just confused. "What are you doing?"
"What did he say?"
"Well, he apologized."
"And you believed him?"
"Seemed real, has he got a background in acting?"
"I don't know does lying count?"
"Look, at the end of this give him a chance to apologise. He might've done it at the gate if you hadn't run inside."
"I've given him a chance before Kirishima. I'm not going to fall for it again."
"I really wish you'd tell me what it is about him that makes you like this..."
Kirishima turns to (Y/N) and shrugs apologetically. (Y/N) sighs and nods in defeat. He'd need to think of something to say to her. A lot of memories of times he'd messed up started to bubble up to the forefront of his mind.
Near the exam area, a bunch of engineers were setting up the robots from Shikishima. One in particular stares confused at a spreadsheet. "Man, these new combat robots have some wild designs...." A group of men walks by, and he waves.
The man gets ignored. but he noticed that they were all wearing their hats lower than normal. A woman pushing a cart goes by. "Hey Takashi! Working hard or hardly working?"
The man shrugs. "The latter I guess.. the new Doctor they brought on hasn't given me anything to do so I'm just looking over the designs. What's up with them by the way?"
The woman scratches her neck. "I dunno, they're pretty late I guess?"
Takashi doesn't seem convinced. "I wonder why they're sticking together? They work in different departments."
Back in the presentation hall. Present Mic gave the rundown on the entrance exam. "As it says in the application requirements you listeners will be conducting ten-minute mock urban battles after this! You can bring whatever you want with you. After the presentation you'll be sent to the specified battle center, okay?"
With Mic's attempt at audience participation going about as well as it always does. (Y/N) looks at his card. "Test Location: Battle Centre D" Looking at the kid's card next to him "Test Location: Battle Centre G"
"So the Battle centers are assigned at random, that's smart, lowers the likelihood of people working together." He thought. "I wonder if Mina got the same one?" He didn't mean to think that and these intrusive thoughts were really starting to get on his nerves now. He shakes his head to clear the pink-tinged static.
Present Mic continued. His persistence despite the dead crowd was definitely something to be admired. "Three different types of faux villains are stationed in each battle center. You earn points for each of them based on the difficulty" A series of bizarre pixilated shapes appear on the large screen behind him. (Y/N) tried to control his nerves. "Your goal, dear listeners, is to use your quirks to earn points by immobilizing the faux villains." (Y/N) gripped his knees. A sense of dread was starting to wash over him.
Mic makes a dynamic point toward the examinees. "Of course, attacking other examinees, and any other unheroic actions are prohibited!"
A tall boy with an intense jawline stands up, hand raised. "May I ask a question?"
