Episode 9: Freedom of The Press

"That was just a rational deception to get you all working at your best." Aizawa said with a wide grin. (Y/N) couldn't tell if Aizawa just enjoyed tormenting them all.

The class all cried out in protest. Midoriya most of all. All the color had drained from his face and he seemingly couldn't get a word out of his mouth that wasn't a scream or a squeak. Yaoyorozu chimed in upon seeing the class's reaction. "I'm honestly surprised none of you figured that out. Sorry, I probably should've said something." 

She said it so matter of factly but somehow it turned into the most uppity thing (Y/N) had ever heard when it registered in his mind. Ashido angrily cried out. "YOU THINK!?" 

(Y/N) didn't mean to glare it just so happened that his face fell like that. "And if you really think no one was going to be expelled then you don't know anything about our teacher."

Yaoyorozu scoffed at the very thought. A few other classmates looked over at (Y/N) after his response. Aizawa wraps things up. "Alright everyone, we're done for the day, grab a syllabus and go home and read it all before tomorrow." As he leaves Aizawa turns to Midoriya and hands him a piece of paper. "Midoriya, go see the old lady and get yourself patched up. Things will be much more difficult for you tomorrow so make sure you're ready..."

Aizawa saunters off. Before Midoriya left (Y/N) considered telling him that this class was rigged against him. Maybe he already knew? Not wanting to pile on to the no doubt large pile of stress Midoriya was already under he thought against it.

While (Y/N) got changed Mineta and Kaminari nervously stepped. Over to him. "Uuh... Kabuto?" Mineta piped up. 

"What?"

He and Kaminari exchanged glances. "Do you really think someone would've gotten expelled today?" Kaminari asks.

"Yep."

"How do you know?"

"I looked up some of the staff before school started. I found out that Aizawa has abused this school's lax systems before and kicked kids out."

"I dunno man Yaoyorozu seemed pretty sure." Mineta said with a blush. Something told (Y/N) he'd believe anything if it came out of the mouth of a girl.

"I don't care what she said. She can say pigs can fly or the new Gekiganger movie was compelling it's not true. I get the feeling because Midoriya came in last he changed up the rules and lied at the very end." 

"But why Midoriya?" 

(Y/N) sighed. "I dunno from what I heard his quirk left him in a pretty rough state after the combat exam." Ida nods.

"It's true. He broke both of his legs and an arm. If it weren't for Uraraka he may have used the other arm to stop his fall."

(Y/N) sweats a little at Ida's sudden engagement with the conversation but rolls with it. "R-right. Well, regardless Midoriya pulled through with some new technique and Aizawa was impressed enough to change his mind."

Kaminari and Mineta nod along but he got the feeling they weren't actually listening to him. Mineta pipes up waggling a finger around to seem intelligent. "Well, I think your argument has about as much basis as Yaoyorozu's" 

"It doesn't." (Y/N) interrupted.

"But..." Kaminari and Mineta giggle amongst themselves. "She's got two very big arguments if you catch my drift!" The two chuckles as (Y/N) grumbles and walks out now fully dressed.

Meeting up with Kirishima and Ashido, (Y/N) sighs as the day comes to a close.

"Bit of an intense first day huh?"
