Chapter 5

     Everyone was quiet on the walk back to the transport vehicle. Jayden made no eye contact with the other candidates. As she was in deep thinking about her failure today. She barely noticed Tavin walking up next to her.

Tavin: "Hey Jayden. Try not to take what Trunks said to heart. I think you were doing great."

Jayden continues facing the ground. She musters the will to speak even though she doesn't want to.

Jayden: "I know we haven't talked in a while. And I know you're trying to be nice but..just not now."

Tavin: "I'm sorry. Trunks is wrong I know for a fact you are ready. If anything all else fails try again next year."

Jayden grunts in frustration and makes an infuriating look toward her friend.

Jayden: "You idiot! How could I just try again next year when the same thing will occur again!"

Tavin is taken back by his friend's sudden rise in voice and is confused about what she meant.

Tavin: "Wa. What do you mean?"

Jayden: "Just!...you wouldn't understand."

Jayden turns away back to her previous position facing the ground. She hates her feelings. She hates how she's still troubled by what people said to her when she was younger. Tavin tries to reach and convert Jayden but she shrugs him away. Before he tries to talk again Sareen rushes towards the two.

Sareen: "Hey Tavin have you seen Trunks?"

Tavin: "No why?"

Sareen: "I can't find him after he walked off."

Tavin: "That's not like him to be gone for a while."

Jayden ignored the two's conversation. The sooner the stupid day was over the better. Until one of the candidates brings up Mika, which gets the patroller's and Jayden's attention.

Candidate: "Hey wheres that girl Mika?"

Sareen groups everyone up trying to figure out the situation. Which was that both Trunks and Mika were missing and no one knew why. 

Everyone was coming up with theories and ideas as to why. Some candidates were joking saying the two got together and ran away and referenced how Mika was acting during the test. While Tavin and Sareen were trying to think more seriously.

Sareen: "You think this could be some attack?"

Tavin: "Don't know."

Sareen: "This isn't right. Let's go look for them."

Jayden: "I'll help."

Jayden stands in front of the two patrollers with determined eyes. She didn't know Mika personally but the teal girl did sit with her and comfort her on the ship. So Jayden thought the least she could do was help find her. As for Trunks, maybe try and look for him too if she could perhaps punch him once or twice afterward.

Tavin: "Heck yeah."

Sareen objects at first, but with Tavin not seeing a problem with it she decides to trust his Judgment. Before departing Sareen Informs the other candidates and asks them to wait at the ship. Unless they would like to participate in the search party. Ultimately the other candidates stay behind, Leaving the Three to look for the missing Saiyan and Alien girl.

The Trio decides to split up. With Tavin searching inside the Combat Dome and the other two, Jayden and Sareen searching outside the area. After a few minutes of searching and with no luck. Jayden moves off from Sareen and decides to
expand her search area to the building across the street. Around the buildings appeared to be local shops run by possible Time Patrollers off duty, or by people from off planet looking for a popular place to start a business. None of them resembled the two missing people Jayden was looking for.
