CHAPTER #2 - THE JOURNEY BEGINS.

"Miguel..come on your scaring and hurting them." Peter said as he pointed to Lucas who had tears flowing down his face. He was traumatized. Miguel then looked at the both of them. He then looked at the web on his back and snatched it off. He yelled out of nowhere and slammed his hands on a crate, making Simone jump up. Lucas got up and limped over to Simone. He winced as he slid down the wall so he could sit next to her.

"Yo-you alright, capitalism..?" Lucas said as he faintly smiled at her. She looked over at him and just laid her head on his shoulder.

"This sucks." She says as she drops her arms to her sides, while she looked over at Lucas. Then over to Miguel as he approached them. He grabbed Lucas by his collar and lifted him up to his face. "Fix this..NOW. Next time you won't be so lucky." He drops him, almost throws him and leaves him there. Lucas lays there for a minute before looking up to see almost the whole society staring at them..him. Tears fill his eyes again as he looks down to the ground. Peter B. walks over and kneels down.

"Hey kid..it's alrigh- oh.." Peter's alright gets cut off by Lucas rushing over to hug him. After everything that happened, Peter was the only person who showed sympathy for him besides Simone as everyone else just watched. It took Simone a second but she got up and walked over to the two of them. She patted him on the back as she wasn't much of a hugger. "It's alright..we're gonna fix this, okay?" She says as she continues to pat him on the back. Lucas pulls himself together after a few more seconds and wipes his eyes. "Uhm..yeah ok..where do we start exactly?" He says as he sniffs the snot back into his nose. "We patrol the city. She couldn't have gotten far." Someone from behind us in the crowd says. They all turn to look behind me and find the crowd shift around as if they are letting someone through. After a long few seconds, the person who was talking revealed themselves among them. It was Gwen! She was walking along side Miles, Hobie, Margo, Spider Noir, Pavitr, and Peni. It's like they were an alliance within the Spider Society. As soon as they all got to us, He smiled and turned towards Simone who was bright red. He looked confused as I saw her staring at Miles. It took Lucas a minute to realize what was happening but as soon as he did, he gasped and crept behind Simone.

"Sooo, him?" He said into her ear which made her jump slightly. "What are you on about, ay?" She says as her eyes squint at him. She was trying to play the obvious off like she wasn't clearly crushing on that boy. "I'm not slow..well sometimes...but that's different!" Lucas exclaimed softly to be sure the others couldn't hear him. He looked at Miles to see how he interacted with the other members of that small society. "Simone." Lucas said as he pulled her arm and took her away from the group.

"I know. You like Miles." Lucas whispered into her ear. As Lucas said this, Simone's face lit up. She was shocked that Lucas actually caught on. "You're crazy dude..we're best friends now." She said as she patted him on the shoulder and walked back to the group, webbing Lucas' arm so he could get with the group as well. "I hate when you do that." He says as he rolls his eyes at her but he laughs afterwards. The group looks at them and continues to discuss the plan.

"Hobie, you're paired with Lucas." Miles said as he waved and pointed to Lucas. Hobie smirked as he walked to Lucas. "What's up, cutie." He said as he put his guitar on his back and looks down at him. Lucas didn't move his head , just looked up and blushed at the guy. He was only a couple of inches taller than him but that's how Lucas liked them. "Uh-uhm..hi.." Lucas said as he blushed at Hobie. Hobie smirked at him and turned Lucas' body to the rest of the group. "Pay attention, lil spider." He whispered in Lucas' ear which made the hair on his neck raise.

"Alright with me is Simone." Miles winked at her, making Simone blush. She looked over at Lucas and saw him blushing as well. She walked over to him and whispered in his ear. "And my man.." Lucas whispered in her ear. "Thank you to my man." To complete her song lyric. She smiled at him then looked up at Hobie. He walked up to him and kicked his leg. "You betta treat my friend right.." As Hobie grunted out the word "Fudge", he jumped up and down while holding his leg in pain. Lucas giggled at Simone's actions and gave her a high five as Miles snapped at us to get our attention.

"Yo, we finna head out." Miles said to the small group as he looked at Peter B and nodded , giving the okay to open a portal to another earth. Peter B walked up to all of them and pulled them all into a hug. "I love all of you okay? Be safe and Miles make sure they get back in one piece.. this is the one mission where we won't be with you. So remember your training and that it's all about a leap of faith , newcomers." Peter B said as a tear dropped from his eyes. He was worried about the group and even more worried about how they would do. Because if anything happened to them, it would fall on him since he let them go, and Miguel would not be okay with this..

"We're gonna be just fine, pops." Lucas said to him. He patted him on the back as he looked over at the portal which was slowly closing. Everyone slowly left the hug and started walking through the portal. As it was Lucas' turn, he stopped and turned to look at Peter B. "We're gonna be okay..okay?" Lucas said as he wiped the tear from his eye and waved at him and walked through the portal.
